12So David went and took the bones of Saul and the bones of Jonathan his son from the men of Jabesh-gilead, who had taken them secretly from the place of Beth-shean, where they had been hanged by the Philistines when the Philistines had killed Saul on Gilboa.

13And he brought from there the bones of Saul and the bones of Jonathan his son. and they gathered up the bones of those who were hanged [in the sun].

14And they buried the bones of Saul and Jonathan his son in the land of Benjamin, in Celah, in the tomb of Kish his father. And they did all that the king commanded, and God was propitiated upon the country after that.

15And war broke out again between the Philistines and the Israelites. And David and his servants went out with him, and fought against the Philistines; and David was weary.

16Then Jesbi, one of the descendants of the Rephaim, who had a spear weighing three hundred shekels of brass and who was girded with a new sword, wanted to strike David.

17But Abishai the son of Zeruiah helped him, and smote the Philistine and killed him. Then David's men swore, saying, "Thou shalt not go forth with us to war any more, lest the lamp of Israel be extinguished."

18Then there was another war with the Philistines in Gob; Then Sobochai the Hushatite slew Shephut, one of the descendants of the Rephaim.

19There was another battle at Gobe; then Elhanan, the son of Yagar-Orgim of Bethlehem, killed Goliath the Getite, whose spear shaft was like a weaver's nave.

20There was also a battle at Gath; And there was a man of stature, having six fingers and six toes, twenty-four in all, also of the descendants of the Rephaim;

21And he reproached Israel; but he was killed by Jonathan the son of Shephai the brother of David.

22These four were of the Rephaim's line at Gath, and they fell by the hand of David and his servants.

1And David sang a song to the LORD on the day when the LORD delivered him out of the hand of all his enemies and out of the hand of Saul, and said,

2The Lord is my stronghold, and my strength, and my deliverer.
