19There was another battle at Gobe; then Elhanan, the son of Yagar-Orgim of Bethlehem, killed Goliath the Getite, whose spear shaft was like a weaver's nave.

20There was also a battle at Gath; And there was a man of stature, having six fingers and six toes, twenty-four in all, also of the descendants of the Rephaim;

21And he reproached Israel; but he was killed by Jonathan the son of Shephai the brother of David.

22These four were of the Rephaim's line at Gath, and they fell by the hand of David and his servants.

1And David sang a song to the LORD on the day when the LORD delivered him out of the hand of all his enemies and out of the hand of Saul, and said,

2The Lord is my stronghold, and my strength, and my deliverer.

3My God is my rock; in Him I trust; My shield, the horn of my salvation, my hedge, and my refuge; My Saviour, Thou hast delivered me from troubles!

4I will call upon the Lord, who is worthy of worship, and I will be saved from my enemies.

5The waves of death have seized me, and the torrents of iniquity have terrified me.

6The chains of hell have encircled me, and the snares of death have bound me.

7But in my distress I called upon the Lord, and I cried unto my God, and he heard my voice out of his palace, and my cry came to his ears.

8The earth shook and shook, and the foundations of the heavens trembled and moved, for the Lord was angry.

9Smoke arose from his wrath, and from his mouth a consuming fire; burning coals poured down from Him.

10He tilted the heavens and came down; and darkness under his feet;

11And he sat on the cherubim, and flew, and was carried on the wings of the wind;

12And He covered Himself with darkness like a canine, gathering together the waters of the clouds of heaven.

13From the brightness before Him coals of fire were kindled.

14The LORD roared from heaven, and the Most High gave his voice.

15He shot arrows and scattered them; [flashed] lightning and destroyed them.

16And the springs of the sea were opened, and the foundations of the world were laid bare by the terrible voice of the Lord, by the breath of the spirit of his wrath.
