The New Testament is for children. The Acts of the Holy Apostles

36 Know therefore with certainty, all the house of Israel, that God has made this Jesus, whom you have crucified, Lord and Christ.

37 And when they heard this, they were pricked in their hearts, and said to Peter and the rest of the apostles, 'What shall we do, men brethren?

38 And Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins. and receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.

39 For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call.

40 And with many other words he testified and exhorted, saying, 'Be saved from this perverse generation.'

41 So those who gladly received his word were baptized, and there were joined that day about three thousand souls.

42 And they continued constantly in the teaching of the apostles, in fellowship, and in the breaking of bread, and in prayers.

43 And there was fear in every soul; and many signs and wonders were wrought through the apostles in Jerusalem.

E-44 Yet all the believers were together, and had all things in common.

45 And they sold their possessions and all their possessions, and divided them among all, according to the need of each.

46 And every day they continued with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, they ate their food with gladness and simplicity of heart,

47 praising God, and being in love with all the people. The Lord added the saved to the Church daily.

Chapter 3

1 Peter and John went together to the temple at the ninth hour of prayer.

2 And there was a man, lame from his mother's womb, who was carried and seated every day at the door of the temple, which is called Red, to beg alms of those who entered into the temple.

3 And when he saw Peter and John before entering the temple, he begged alms from them.

4 Peter and John looked at him, and said, 'Look at us.'

E-5 And he stared at them, hoping to get something out of them.

6 But Peter said, 'I have no silver and no gold; but what I have, I give unto thee: in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, arise and walk.

7 And he took him by the right hand, and lifted him up; and suddenly his feet and knees were strengthened,

8 And he sprang up, and stood, and began to walk, and entered with them into the temple, walking and leaping, and praising God.
