8 And I will no longer let the foot of Israel go out of the land which I gave to their fathers, if only they will strive to do according to all that I have commanded them, and to all the law which my servant Moses commanded them."

9 But they did not listen; And Manasseh led them into doing worse than the nations whom the Lord had destroyed before the children of Israel.

10 And the Lord spake through his servants the prophets, saying,

11 because Manasseh king of Judah had done such abominations, worse than all that the Amorites who were before him had done, and he had made Judah sin with his idols,

12 Therefore thus saith the Lord, the God of Israel, behold, I will bring such evil upon Jerusalem and upon Judah, of which whosoever heareth shall ring in both his ears;

13 And I will stretch out to Jerusalem the measuring cord of Samaria, and the plumb line of the house of Ahab, and I will wipe Jerusalem as one wipes the cup, they will wipe it and overturn it.

14 And I will cast away the remnant of my inheritance, and will deliver them into the hand of their enemies, and they shall be plundered and plundered by all their enemies,

15 because they have done evil in my sight, and have provoked me to anger, from the day that their fathers came out of Egypt until this day.

16 And Manasseh also shed a great deal of innocent blood, so that he filled Jerusalem with it from one end to the other, beyond his sin, that he led Judah into sin, to do evil in the sight of the Lord.

17 The rest of Manasseh, and all that he did, and his sins, wherein he sinned, are written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah.

18 And Manasseh slept with his fathers, and was buried in the garden of his house, in the garden of Uzzah. And Ammon his son reigned in his stead.

19 And Ammon was twenty-two years when he reigned, and two years he reigned in Jerusalem; and his mother's name was Meshullemeph, the daughter of Harutz, of Yatbah.

20 And he did evil in the sight of the Lord, as Manasseh his father did;

21 And he walked the same way that his father walked, and served the idols which his father served, and worshipped them,
