2 And he said, 'Behold, I have heard that there is bread in Egypt; Go thither and buy us bread from there, that we may live and not die.

3 And the ten brothers of Joseph went out to buy corn in Egypt,

4 but Jacob did not send Benjamin the brother of Joseph with his brethren, for he said, "That no calamity should befall him."

5 And the children of Israel came to buy corn with the rest of them, for there was a famine in the land of Canaan.

6 And Joseph was a ruler in that land; and he sold bread to all the people of the earth. Joseph's brothers came and bowed down to the ground.

7 And Joseph saw his brethren, and knew them; but he showed that he did not know them, and spoke to them sternly, and said to them, Where have you come from? They said, "Out of the land of Canaan, to buy food."

8 Joseph recognized his brothers, but they did not recognize him.

9 And Joseph remembered the dreams which he had dreamed of them; And he said to them, "You spies, you have come to look out for the nakedness of this land."

10 And they said unto him, 'No, our lord; thy servants have come to buy food;

11 We are all children of the same person; we are honest people; Thy servants were not spies.

12 And he said to them, 'No, you have come to look out for the nakedness of this land.'

13 And they said, We are thy servants twelve brethren; we are the sons of a man in the land of Canaan, and behold, the youngest is now with our father, and one is gone.

14 And Joseph said unto them, 'This is what I have spoken unto you, saying, 'Ye are spies;

15 This is how you will be tried: By Pharaoh's life, you will not come out of here, unless your younger brother comes hither.
