24 Pharaoh called Moses [and Aaron] and said, 'Go and serve the LORD [your God], let only your flocks and herds remain, and let your children go with you.'

25 But Moses said, [No,] give also into our hands sacrifices and burnt offerings, to offer to the Lord our God;

26 Let our flocks also go with us, and not a hoof shall remain; For of these we will offer as a sacrifice to the Lord our God; but until we get there, we do not know what to sacrifice to the LORD.

27 And the LORD hardened Pharaoh's heart, and he would not let them go.

28 And Pharaoh said to him, 'Depart from me; take heed, do not appear before me any more; In the day that thou shalt see my face, thou shalt die.

29 And Moses said, "As thou hast spoken, so shall it be; I will see your face no more.

Chapter 11

1 And the LORD said to Moses, 'I will bring another plague upon Pharaoh and upon the Egyptians; after that he will let you go from here; but when he sends you away, he will drive you away from here in haste;

2 Instruct the people [secretly] that every man should ask of his neighbor, and every woman of her neighbor, things of silver, and things of gold.

3 And the Lord gave mercy to his people in the sight of the Egyptians, and Moses was very great in the land of Egypt, in the sight of Pharaoh's servants, and in the sight of all the people.

4 And Moses said, Thus saith the Lord, At midnight I will pass through the midst of Egypt,

5 And every firstborn in the land of Egypt shall die, from the firstborn of Pharaoh who sits on his throne, to the firstborn of the handmaid who is at the millstone, and every firstborn of the cattle.

6 And there shall be a great cry in all the land of Egypt, such as has never been, nor shall there be any more;

7 And of all the children of Israel, a dog shall not stir his tongue against man or beast, that ye may know what difference the Lord maketh between the Egyptians and the Israelites.
