And he saith unto him, If thou art the Son of God, cast thyself down, for it is written, He shall give his angels charge concerning thee, and they shall bear thee up in their hands, lest thou dash thy foot against a stone.

Jesus said to him, "It is also written, 'You shall not tempt the Lord your God.'

Again the devil takes him up to a very high mountain, and shews him all the kingdoms of the world, and their glory,

And he saith unto him, 'All these things I will give unto thee, if thou shalt fall down and worship me.'

Then Jesus said to him, 'Get thee behind me, Satan, for it is written, 'Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve.'

Then the devil left him, and behold, angels came and ministered to him.

And when Jesus heard that John had been put under arrest, he withdrew into Galilee

And having left Nazareth, he came and dwelt in Capernaum by the sea, in the borders of Zebulun and Naphtali,

That it may be fulfilled which was spoken by Isaiah the prophet, saying,

The land of Zebulun, and the land of Naphtali, on the way by the sea, beyond the Jordan, the Gentile Galilee,

The people that sat in darkness saw a great light, and light shone on them that sat in the land and in the shadow of death.

From that time on, Jesus began to preach and say, 'Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.'

And as he passed by the sea of Galilee, he saw two brothers, Simon who was called Peter, and Andrew his brother, casting their nets into the sea, for they were fishermen,

and saith unto them, 'Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men.'

And straightway they left their nets, and followed him.

From thence as he went on, he saw two other brothers, James Zebedee and John his brother, in a boat with Zebedee their father, mending their nets, and he called them.

And straightway they left the boat and their father, and followed him.

And Jesus went about all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every sickness and every infirmity among the people.

And a rumour of him went out throughout all Syria; and they brought to Him all the infirm, afflicted with various diseases and fits, and the possessed by demons, and lunatics, and the paralytic, and He healed them.

And a great multitude of people followed him from Galilee, and from the Decapolis, and from Jerusalem, and from Judea, and from beyond the Jordan.
