Thou hast just stood over thy prey, my son;

And now he stretched out and lay down like a lion,

as the king of beasts, and who would dare to disturb him?

10The scepter will be in the hand of Judas[395]a

and the ruler's rod is at his feet;

until He comes, Who will bring rest[396] to people,

Whom the nations will obey.

11 Judas bindeth his ass to the vine

and the colt – to the best vine.

He rinses his clothes in wine,

their vestments are in the blood of bunches of grapes.

12His eyes are darker wines,

His teeth are whiter than milk. [397]

13Zebulun will dwell on the seashore,

he has a safe harbor for ships,

and Sidon is very close to him[398].

14 Issachar is a strong ass[399],

that lay down among the cattle pens.

15As soon as he saw a good abode

and pleasant terrain,

how he put his back under the burden

and began to work in payment of tribute.

16Dan will execute judgment among his people,

as one of the tribes[400] of Israel.

17Dan will be a serpent on the road,

like an adder on the way,

that stings the horse in the leg,

so that his rider falls backwards.

18 (In You, O Lord, our salvation is what I hope for![ 401])

19Gad... He will be annoyed by the raids of robbers,

but each time they will have to flee from it[402].

20 The food is good, and it is in abundance[403],

at least supply his delicacies to the king's table.

21Naphtali is a free doe,

He produces excellent offspring[404].
