The Psalter of the Prophet David (in Russian translation by P. Yungerov)

5. About the hereditary. Psalm of David.

God! Hearken unto my words, and understand my proclamation. Hearken unto the voice of my supplication, O my King and my God, for unto Thee will I pray, O Lord. In the morning hear my voice, in the morning I will stand before you, and you will see me. For Thou art God, to whom iniquity is displeasing, the evil one shall not dwell among Thee. And the wicked shall not abide in thy sight: thou hast hated all that doeth iniquity. Thou shalt destroy all those who speak lies, the Lord abhors the bloodthirsty and the flattering. But I, according to the abundance of Thy mercy, will enter into Thy house, and worship Thy holy temple in Thy fear. God! Instruct me in Thy righteousness, correct my way before Thee for the sake of my enemies. For there is no truth in their mouths, their heart is vain, their throat is an open sepulchre, they flattered with their tongues. Judge them, O God! Let them depart from their designs; For the multitude of their wickedness cast them down, for they have grieved Thee, O Lord. And let all those who trust in Thee rejoice, rejoice for ever, and dwell in them, and those who love Thy name shall glory in Thee. For Thou wilt bless the righteous, O Lord: Thou hast protected us as a weapon of good will.

6. In the end. Canto. About the octom (day). Psalm of David.

God! Do not rebuke me in Thy wrath, nor punish me in Thy wrath. Have mercy on me, O Lord, for I am weak; heal me, O Lord, for my bones are shaken. And my soul is very indignant. And thou, O Lord, how long wilt thou not show me help? Turn, O Lord: deliver my soul, save me according to Thy mercy. For none of the dead remembers Thee, but in hell who confesses Thee? I am weary because of my sighs, I wash my bed every night, I water my bed with my tears. My eye is dimmed with anger, I am worn out among all my enemies. Depart from me, all you who do iniquity, for the Lord has heard the voice of my weeping. The Lord heard my prayer, the Lord accepted my prayer. Let all my enemies be ashamed and troubled, let them turn back and be ashamed very quickly.

7. The Psalm of David, which he sang to the Lord, concerning the words of Hushai the son of Jemeni.

O Lord my God! In Thee have I trusted, save me from all those who persecute me, and deliver me. Let not (the enemy) snatch away my soul like a lion, when there is no deliverer and savior. O Lord my God! If I have done anything, if there is iniquity in my hands, If I have avenged myself on those who repay me evil, let me fall exhausted by my enemies, Let the enemy pursue my soul, and let him overtake me, and trample my life into the ground, and let my glory be reduced to dust. Arise, O Lord, in Thy wrath, exalt thyself on the borders of Thy enemies, and be lifted up, O Lord my God, according to the command which Thou hast commanded. And a host of nations shall surround thee, and above them ascend on high. The Lord judges the nations. Judge me, O Lord, according to my righteousness, and according to the kindness that I have. May the wickedness of sinners cease, and correct the righteous, O God, Who searchest hearts and bowels in righteousness. My help is from God, Who saves the upright in heart. God is a righteous and mighty judge, and long-suffering, and not provoking wrath daily. If ye do not convert, he will sharpen his weapon, he has drawn his bow and prepared it, and in it he has prepared the instruments of death, he has made his arrows for those who are burned. Behold, he fell ill with iniquity, conceived malice, and gave birth to iniquity. He has dug a pit and deepened it, but he will fall into the pit which he has made: His wickedness shall be turned upon his head, and his iniquity shall come down upon the crown of his head. I confess to the Lord according to His righteousness, and sing the name of the Lord Most High.

8. In the end. About winepresses. Psalm of David.

Lord, our Lord! How wonderful is Thy name throughout all the earth! For Thy majesty is exalted above the heavens. Out of the mouth of babes and sucklings Thou hast ordained praise for the sake of Thy enemies, that Thou mayest destroy the enemy and the avenger. How shall I look upon the heavens, the works of Thy fingers, upon the moon and the stars which Thou hast founded, What is man, that Thou rememberest him? Or the son of man, that thou visitest him? Thou hast humbled him with little more than the angels, Thou hast crowned him with glory and honor, And hast set him over the works of Thy hands, Thou hast subdued all things under his feet: All the sheep and oxen, and also the cattle of the field, The fowls of the air, and the fish of the sea, which pass through the paths of the sea. Lord, our Lord! How wonderful is Thy name throughout all the earth!
