They divided My garments among themselves, and cast lots for My garments.

The warriors did it. 25 And standing by the cross of Jesus were his mother and his mother's sister, Mary of Cleopas and Mary Magdalene. 26 And when Jesus saw the Mother and the disciple standing near, whom he loved, he said to his mother, 'Woman, behold your son.' 27 Then he said to the disciple, 'This is your mother.' And from that hour the disciple took Her to himself. 28 After this, Jesus, knowing that all things were already finished, said, "That the Scripture may be fulfilled, I thirst." 29 And there stood a vessel full of vinegar. Then they found a sponge full of vinegar on the spear[121] and brought it to His lips. 30 And when Jesus had tasted vinegar, he said, 'It is finished.' And, bowing his head, he betrayed his spirit. 31 And since it was Friday, the Jews, in order that the bodies should not be left on the cross on the Sabbath, for that Sabbath was a great day, asked Pilate to break their legs and take them off. 32 So the soldiers came, and broke the legs of the first, and of the other who was crucified with him. 33 And when they came to Jesus, when they saw that he was already dead, they did not break his legs, 34 but one of the soldiers pierced his side with a spear, and immediately blood and water came out. 35 And he that hath seen hath testified, and his testimony is true, and he knoweth that which is true hath spoken, that ye also may believe. 36 For these things have come to pass, that the Scripture may be fulfilled: let not his bone be broken. E-37 And another Scripture says, "They will look on Him Whom they have pierced."

38 And after this, Joseph of Arimathea, who had been a disciple of Jesus, but secretly for fear of the Jews, asked Pilate to take the body of Jesus. And Pilate gave permission. He came and took His body. 39 And Nicodemus, who had come to him the first time by night, came, and brought a mixture of myrrh and aloe, about a hundred pounds. 40 And they took the body of Jesus, and wrapped it in swaddling clothes, with spices, as the Jews are wont to bury. 41 And there was a garden in the place where he was crucified, and in the garden a new tomb, in which no one had yet been laid. 42 It was there, for the sake of the Jewish Friday, because the tomb was near, that Jesus was laid.

1 On the very first day of the week, Mary Magdalene came to the tomb in the morning, still in darkness, and saw that the stone had been taken from the tomb. 2 And she fled, and came to Simon Peter, and to another disciple whom Jesus loved, and said to them, 'They have taken the Lord out of the tomb, and we do not know where they have laid him.' 3 Then Peter and the other disciple went out and went to the tomb. 4 And they both fled together, and the other disciple fled quickly, and went ahead of Peter, and came first to the tomb. 5 And stooping down, he sees that the swaddling clothes are lying; However, he did not enter. 6 Then Simon Peter also came, following him. And he went into the tomb and saw that the swaddling clothes were lying 7 and that the handkerchief that was on His head was not lying with swaddling clothes, but was rolled up separately in its place. 8 Then another disciple also came in, who had come first to the tomb, and saw and believed. 9 For they did not yet know the Scripture, that he must rise from the dead. 10 So the disciples went back to their homes. 11 And Mary stood by the sepulchre outside, weeping. And so, while she was weeping, she bent down into the tomb 12 and saw that two angels in white were sitting, one at the head and the other at the feet, where the body of Jesus lay. 13 And they said to her, 'Woman, why are you weeping?' He said to them, "Because they have taken my Lord, and I do not know where they have laid Him." 14 When she had said that, she turned back and saw Jesus standing. And she didn't know it was Jesus. 15 Jesus said to her, 'Woman, why are you weeping?' Who are you looking for? She, thinking that it was the gardener, said to Him, "Lord, if you have carried Him away, tell me where you have laid Him, and I will take Him." 16 Jesus said to her, "Miriam! Turning around, she said to Him in Hebrew: Rabbi (which means: Teacher)! 17 Jesus said to her, 'Do not touch me, for I have not yet ascended to the Father; but go unto my brethren, and say unto them, I ascend unto my Father, and to your Father, and to my God, and to your God. 18 Mary Magdalene came and told the disciples that she had seen the Lord, and he had told her this. 19 And it came to pass, in the evening of that day, the first day of the week, when, for fear of the Jews, the doors were shut where the disciples were, Jesus came, and stood in the midst, and said to them, Peace be upon you! 20 And when he had said these things, he showed them both his hands and his side. The disciples rejoiced when they saw the Lord. 21 Jesus said to them again, "Peace be unto you! As the Father sent Me, I also send you. 22 And having said this, he blew

and saith unto them, Receive ye the Holy Ghost. 23 If you forgive any man's sins, they shall be forgiven him; if you hold it on anyone, they are withheld. 24 But Thomas, one of the Twelve, called the Twin, was not with them when Jesus came. 25 The other disciples said to him, "We have seen the Lord." And he said to them, Unless I see the mark of nails in His hands, and put my finger in the place of the nails, and put my hand in His side, I will not believe. 26 And after eight days the disciples were again in the house, and Thomas with them. Jesus comes when the doors have been shut; And he stood in the midst, and said, Peace be unto you! 27 Then he said to Thomas, 'Give thy finger hither, and look at my hands, and give thy hand, and put it in my side, and be not unbelieving, but believing.' 28 And Thomas answered and said to him, 'My Lord and my God! 29 Jesus said to him, 'You have believed because you have seen me.' Blessed are those who have not seen and believed. 30 And Jesus did many other signs before his disciples, which are not written in this book. 31 Of these it is written, that ye may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that by believing ye may have life in his name.

1 And after these things Jesus manifested himself again to the disciples on the sea of Tiberias, and thus he manifested himself. 2 And Simon Peter, and Thomas, who is called the Twin, and Nathanael of Cana of Galilee, and the sons of Zebedee, and two others of his disciples were together. 3 Simon Peter said to them, 'I am going to fish.' They said to him, "We are going with you." We went out and got into the boat, and that night we caught nothing. 4 And when the morning was already come, Jesus stood on the shore, but the disciples did not know that it was Jesus. 5 Jesus said to them, 'Friends, have you anything to eat with bread?' And they answered him, No. 6 And he said to them, 'Cast the net on the right side of the boat, and you will find it.' They threw it and could not pull it out because of the multitude of fish. 7 Then said the disciple whom Jesus loved to Peter, 'This is the Lord.' But Simon Peter, when he heard that it was the Lord, girded himself with a garment (for he was naked) and threw himself into the sea. 8 And the other disciples came in a boat (they were not far from the land, about two hundred cubits), dragging a net with fish. 9 And when they came down to the ground, they saw coals spread out, and the fish lying on them, and the bread. 10 Jesus said to them, "Bring some of the fish that you have caught just now." And Simon Peter went into the boat, and hauled out a net full of great fishes, one hundred and fifty-three in number; And, although there were so many of them, the net was not broken. 12 Jesus said to them, "Go and eat." None of the disciples dared to ask Him, "Who art Thou?" — knowing that it is the Lord. 13 Jesus comes, and takes bread, and gives them fish, too. 14 This is the third time Jesus appeared to the disciples, having risen from the dead. 15 So when they had eaten, Jesus said to Simon Peter, "Simon, son of John, do you love me more than they do? He said to Him, "Yes, Lord, Thou knowest that I love Thee." He said to him, "Feed my lambs." 16 He said to him again, a second time, 'Simon son of John, do you love me?' He said to Him, "Yes, Lord, Thou knowest that I love Thee." He said to him, "Be a shepherd of my sheep." 17 He said to him a third time, "Simon son of John, do you love me?" Peter was grieved that He said to him for the third time, "Do you love me?" And He said to Him, "Lord, You know all things, You know that I love You." Jesus said to him, "Feed my sheep." 18 Verily, verily, I say unto thee, when thou wast young, thou didst gird thyself, and went whithersoever thou wouldst; but when you are old, you will stretch out your hands, and another will gird you and lead you whither you do not want. 19 And this he said, to make it clear by what death he would glorify God. And having said this, he said to him, "Follow me." 20 Turning around, Peter sees that the disciple whom Jesus loved is coming next, the same one who fell down to His bosom at the supper and said, "Lord, who is he who betrays You? 21 And when Peter saw him, he said to Jesus, "Lord, what is he?" 22 Jesus said to him, 'If I want him to abide until I come, what shall you do?' Thou shalt follow Me. 23 And the word was so spread among the brethren, that the disciple shall not die. But Jesus did not tell him that he would not die, but, "If I want him to abide until I come, what shall I do to you?" E-24 He's the disciple that's testifying to these things, and writing it, and we know that his testimony is true. 25 And there are many other things that Jesus did: if all these things were written, I think that the world itself could not contain the books that would be written.
