The parable of the woman who found the lost coin shows the same thing (Luke 15).

The Angels of God also have joy over one sinner who repents (Luke 15:10).

I recognized my iniquity, and did not hide my sin, I said: "I will confess my iniquity to the Lord," and Thou hast forgiven the wickedness of my heart (Psalm 31:5).

Repentance cleanses all sins, whatever they may be (Exhortation 1 to Theodore the Fallen).

Composition of repentance:

I. One must renounce oneself, that is, one's own will and passionate lusts, strive against all sin, and not only do not do it by deed, but also drive it away from thought.
