On the same day, Father Pavel made a sketch of the beginning of his lectures, which he then pronounced at the end of the first lecture in a slightly revised form: "We will have to deal with subjects that have not been studied at all, or have been studied in completely different directions and angles than we have in mind, and the main thing served as a subject in other intentions than for us. We will have to do everything again<2 nrzb.>".

The report on the lectures appeared in the press, and, judging by the extremely accurate and capacious presentation, it could have belonged to Florensky himself:

"The main task of the course was to establish the greatest importance of the cult (sacraments, divine services, rites) for Orthodoxy. To the cult of the Church and to its foundation and center—the Divine Eucharist—ascend all the holiness of Christian life, thought, and deeds. Everything that is then secularized in culture proceeds from the cult: philosophy, science, forms of society, art. The cult (and its basis, the sacrament of Communion) is the sacred and only basis for living thought, creativity, and society. Therefore, Orthodoxy is threatened with troubles by those theological systems that evade the recognition of the central importance of the sacraments, divine services and sacred symbols-rites for the Church, life and philosophy.

The lectures of the priest P. A. Florensky were held with exceptional success and in front of a crowded audience"[14].
