Bible. Books of the Holy Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments

24 And Jacob was left alone. And Someone wrestled with him until the dawn;

25 And when he saw that he could not prevail against him, he touched the joint of his thigh, and injured the joint of Jacob's thigh, while he wrestled with him.

26 And he said, 'Let me go, for the dawn has risen.' And Jacob said, I will not let thee go until thou blessest me.

27 And he said, 'What is your name?' He said, "Jacob."

28 And he said to him, 'From now on your name will not be Jacob, but Israel, for you have wrestled with God, and you will overcome men.'

29 And Jacob also asked, saying, Tell me thy name. And he said, Why do you ask my name? [It's wonderful.] And blessed him there.

30 And Jacob called the name of the place Penuel; for, he said, I have seen God face to face, and my soul has been preserved.

31 And the sun rose as he passed by Penuel; and he limped on his thigh.

32 Wherefore even to this day the children of Israel do not eat the sinew which is on the thigh joint, because he who wrestled touched the sinew of Jacob's thigh.

5 And [Esau] looked, and saw the women and the children, and said, 'Who is this with you?' And Jacob said, The children whom God has given to thy servant.

6 And the maidservants and their children came near, and worshipped;

7 And Leah and her children came near, and worshipped; At last Joseph and Rachel came and bowed.

8 And Esau said, 'Why do you have this multitude which I have met?' And Jacob said, That [thy servant] may find favor in the sight of my master.

9 Esau said, 'I have much, my brother; let yours be yours.

10 And Jacob said, 'No, if I have found favor in thy sight, receive my gift from my hand, for I have seen thy face as one had seen the face of God, and thou hast been well pleased with me.

11 Accept my blessing which I have brought unto thee, for God hath given me, and I have all things. And he begged him, and he took
