Bible. Books of the Holy Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments
4 The LORD is in his holy temple, the LORD, his throne is in heaven, and his eyes behold [the poor]; His eyelids test the sons of men.
5 The Lord tries the righteous, but his soul hates the wicked and the lover of violence.
6 With rain he will pour out burning coals, fire and brimstone on the wicked; and the scorching wind is their share of the cup;
7 for the Lord is righteous, he loves righteousness; He sees the righteous man in His face.
Psalm 11
1 To the head of the choir. On an eight-string one. Psalm of David.
2 Save me, O Lord, for the righteous is no more, for there is none faithful among the sons of men.
3 Every man speaks lies to his neighbor; the lips are flattering, they speak from a pretended heart.
4 The Lord will destroy all flattering lips, a tongue that speaks loudly,
5 those who say, "With our tongue we will prevail, our mouth is with us; Who is our master?"
6 For the affliction of the poor, and the groaning of the poor, I will now arise, saith the Lord, I will put in safety him whom they seek to catch.
7 The words of the Lord are pure words, silver cleansed from the earth in the furnace, refined seven times.
8 Thou, O Lord, shalt keep them, thou shalt keep them from this generation for ever.
9 The wicked walk everywhere, when the least of the sons of men have been exalted.
Psalm 12
1 To the head of the choir. Psalm of David.
2 How long, O Lord, wilt thou forget me to the end, how long wilt thou hide thy face from me?
3 How long shall I form counsel in my soul, sorrow in my heart day [and night]? How long shall my enemy exalt himself above me?
4 Look, hear me, O Lord my God! Enlighten my eyes, that I may not sleep in the sleep of death;
5 Let not my enemy say, 'I have overcome him.' Let not my persecutors rejoice if I waver.
6 But I trust in thy mercy; my heart shall rejoice in thy salvation; I will sing praises to the Lord who has done me good.
