Bible. Books of the Holy Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments

9 "The word of Belial came upon him; he lay down; he shall rise no more."

10 Even the man who was at peace with me, in whom I trusted, who ate my bread, lifted up his heel against me.

11 But thou, O Lord, have mercy on me, and raise me up, and I will repay them.

12 Wherefore I shall know that thou wilt be pleased with me, if my enemy do not triumph over me,

13 but thou shalt keep me whole, and shalt thou set me before thy face for ever.

14 Blessed be the Lord God of Israel from everlasting to everlasting. Amen, amen!

Psalm 41

1 To the head of the choir. Teaching. The sons of Korah.

2 As a deer longeth for streams of water, so my soul longeth unto thee, O God!

3 My soul thirsts for the strong and living God: when I come and appear before the face of God!

4 My tears were bread to me day and night, when they said to me all day long, Where is thy God?

5 Remembering these things, I pour out my soul, because I walked in the multitude, and entered with them into the house of God, with a voice of joy and praise of the celebrating assembly.

6 Why are you discouraged, O my soul, and why are you troubled? Trust in God, for I will still glorify Him, my Saviour and my God.

7 My soul is weary within me; therefore I remember Thee from the land of Jordan, from Hermon, from Mount Zoar.

8 The deep calls the deep with the voice of Thy waterfalls; all Thy waters and Thy waves have passed over me.

9 By day the Lord will shew His mercy, and by night I will sing to Him, a prayer to the God of my life.

10 I will say to God my intercessor, Why hast thou forgotten me? Why do I walk in lamentation from the insults of the enemy?

11 As if they were smearing my bones, my enemies mock me, when they say to me all the day, 'Where is your God?'

12 Why are you discouraged, O my soul, and why are you troubled? Trust in God, for I will still glorify Him, my Saviour and my God.

Psalm 42

1 Judge me, O God, and enter into my dispute with an unkind people. Deliver me from a wicked and unjust man;
