Bible. Books of the Holy Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments

1 He that dwelleth under the shelter of the Most High, under the shadow of the Almighty, resteth,

2 saith unto the Lord, My refuge and my refuge, my God, in whom I trust.

3 He will deliver you from the snare of the fisherman, from the deadly plague,

4 With His feathers He will overshadow you, and under His wings you will be safe; the shield and the hedge are His truth.

5 Thou shalt not be afraid of terrors in the night, of the arrow that flies by day,

6 A plague that walks in darkness, a pestilence that destroys at noonday.

7 A thousand shall fall beside thee, and ten thousand at thy right hand; but he will not come near you:

8 Only shalt thou look with thine eyes, and see the vengeance of the wicked.

9 For thou hast said, 'The Lord is my hope'; Thou hast chosen the Most High for thy refuge;

10 No evil shall befall thee, neither shall the plague come nigh to thy dwelling;

11 For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways;

12 They shall bear thee up in their hands, lest thou dash thy foot against a stone;

13 Thou shalt tread on the adder and the basilisk; you will trample on the lion and the dragon.

14 "Because he has loved me, I will deliver him; I will defend him, because he has known my name.

15 He shall call unto me, and I will hear him; with him I am in sorrow; I will deliver him and glorify him;

16 With long days will I satisfy him, and shew him my salvation."

Psalm 91

Psalm 1. Hymn for the Sabbath Day.

2 It is good to praise the Lord, and to sing to thy name, O Most High,

3 to proclaim thy mercy in the morning, and thy truth in the night,

4 on the ten-stringed and psalter, with a song on the harp.
