Chapter 6

And the Lord said to Moses, 'Now you will see what I will do to Pharaoh; by the action of a strong hand he will let them go; by the action of a strong hand he will even drive them out of his land.

And God spake unto Moses, and said unto him, I am the Lord.

I appeared to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob with the name "God Almighty," but with my name "Lord" I did not reveal myself to them.

And I made my covenant with them, that I might give them the land of Canaan, the land of their pilgrimage, in which they sojourned.

And I heard the groaning of the children of Israel, that the Egyptians were holding them in bondage, and I remembered my covenant.

Say therefore to the children of Israel, 'I am the Lord, and I will bring you out from under the yoke of the Egyptians, and I will deliver you from their bondage, and I will save you with an outstretched arm, and with great judgments;

And I will receive you as my people, and I will be your God, and you will know that I am the Lord your God, who brought you out of the yoke of Egypt.

And I will bring you into the land for which I lifted up my hand, and swore to give it to Abraham, and to Isaac, and to Jacob, and I will give it to you for an inheritance. I am the Lord.

Moses told these things to the children of Israel; but they did not listen to Moses because of the cowardice and the burden of the work.

And the Lord said to Moses, saying,

Come in, and tell Pharaoh king of Egypt to let the children of Israel go out of their land.

And Moses said before the Lord, saying, Behold, the children of Israel do not listen to me; How then will Pharaoh listen to me? And I am not verbal.

And the LORD spake unto Moses and Aaron, and gave them commandments unto the children of Israel, and unto Pharaoh king of Egypt, to bring the children of Israel out of the land of Egypt.
