7 And I will receive you as my people, and I will be your God, and you will know that I am the Lord your God, who brought you out of the yoke of Egypt.

8 And I will bring you into the land for which I lifted up my hand, and swore to give it to Abraham, and to Isaac, and to Jacob, and I will give it to you for an inheritance. I am the Lord.

9 Moses told these things to the children of Israel; but they did not listen to Moses because of the cowardice and the burden of the work.

10 And the Lord said to Moses, saying,

11 Come in, and tell Pharaoh king of Egypt to let the children of Israel go out of their land.

12 And Moses said before the Lord, saying, Behold, the children of Israel do not listen to me; How then will Pharaoh listen to me? And I am not verbal.

13 And the LORD spake unto Moses and Aaron, and gave them commandments unto the children of Israel, and unto Pharaoh king of Egypt, to bring the children of Israel out of the land of Egypt.

14 These are the rulers of their generations: the sons of Reuben, the firstborn of Israel: Chanoch and Phallah, Hezron and Harmi: these are the families of Reuben.

15 And the sons of Simeon: Jemuel, and Jamin, and Ogad, and Jachin, and Zohar, and Saul the son of the Canaanite woman: these are the families of Simeon.

16 These are the names of the sons of Levi after their generations: Gershon, and Kohath, and Merari. And the years of Levi's life were one hundred and thirty-seven.

17 And the sons of Gershon: Libni, and Shemei, and their families.

18 And the sons of Kohath: Amram, and Izhar, and Hebron, and Uziel. And the years of Kohath's life were one hundred and thirty-three years.

19 The sons of Merari: Mahli and Mushi. These are the families of Levi according to their kinds.

20 Amram took Jochebeda his aunt to be his wife, and she bore him Aaron and Moses [and Miriam their sister]. And the years of Amram's life were one hundred and thirty-seven.
