Bible. Books of the Holy Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments

24 but I say unto you, that the land of Sodom shall be more pleasant in the day of judgment than unto thee.

25 At that time, continuing the speech, Jesus said, "I praise you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that you have hidden these things from the wise and prudent, and have revealed them to babes.

26 To her, Father! for such was Thy good pleasure.

27 All things have been delivered unto me by my Father, and no man knoweth the Son but the Father; and no one knows the Father except the Son, and to whom the Son wants to reveal.

28 Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest;

29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am meek and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.

30 For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.

Chapter 12

1 At that time Jesus was passing through the sown fields on the Sabbath; and his disciples hungered, and began to pluck the ears of corn and eat.

2 And when the Pharisees saw this, they said unto him, Behold, thy disciples are doing what they ought not to do on the sabbath.

3 And he said unto them, Have ye not read what David did, when he hungered, and those who were with him?

4 How did he enter into the house of God, and eat the showbread, which he was not to eat, nor to those who were with him, but only to the priests?

5 Or have you not read in the law that on the Sabbath the priests in the temple break the Sabbath, but are innocent?

6 But I say to you, that here is He who is greater than the temple;

7 If you had known what it means, I desire mercy, and not sacrifice, you would not have condemned the innocent,

8 For the Son of Man is Lord even of the sabbath.

9 And having departed from thence, he entered into their synagogue.

E-10 And behold, there was a man with a withered hand. And they asked Jesus, to accuse him, Is it permissible to heal on the Sabbath?

11 And he said unto them, 'Which of you, having one sheep, if it falls into a pit on the Sabbath day, shall not take it and pull it out?'

12 How much better is a man than a sheep! Thus, it is possible to do good on Saturdays.

13 Then saith unto the man, Stretch out thy hand. And he stretched it out, and she was as well as the other.
