Bible. Books of the Holy Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments

38 And the veil of the temple was torn in two, from top to bottom.

39 And the centurion who stood before him, when he saw that he had thus cried out, gave up his spirit, said, 'Truly this man was the Son of God.'

40 And there were also women who were looking on from afar, and Mary Magdalene, and Mary the mother of James the Less, and Josiah, and Salome,

41 And even while he was in Galilee they followed him and served him, and many others who came with him to Jerusalem.

42 And when the evening was already come, for it was Friday, that is, the day before the Sabbath,

43 Joseph came from Arimathea, a famous member of the council, who himself was waiting for the Kingdom of God, and dared to come to Pilate, and asked for the body of Jesus.

44 Pilate was amazed that he was already dead, and he called the centurion and asked him how long he had died.

45 And when he had learned of the centurion, he gave the body to Joseph.

46 And he bought the shroud, and took him down, and wrapped him in the shroud, and laid him in the sepulchre, which was hewn out of the rock, and rolled the stone against the door of the sepulchre.

E-47 And Mary Magdalene and Mary Josiah looked where they laid Him.

5 And when they had entered into the tomb, they saw a young man sitting on the right side, clothed in a white robe; And they were horrified.

6 And he saith unto them, Be not terrified. You are looking for Jesus of Nazareth, crucified; He's risen, He's not here. That's the place where He was laid.

7 But go and tell his disciples and Peter that he is going before you in Galilee; there you will see Him, as He told you.

8 And they went out, and fled from the sepulchre; they were seized with trembling and terror, and said nothing to anyone, because they were afraid.

9 Rising early on the first day of the week, Jesus first appeared to Mary Magdalene, from whom he cast out seven demons.
