Bible. Books of the Holy Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments

9 Is not the whole earth before thee? Separate yourself from me: if you are on the left, then I am on the right; and if you are to the right, then I am to the left.

10 And Lot lifted up his eyes, and saw all the country round about the Jordan, that before the Lord destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah, it was watered with water as far as Zoar, as the garden of the Lord, as the land of Egypt.

11 And Lot chose for himself all the country round about the Jordan; and Lot moved eastward. And they separated from each other.

12 And Abram dwelt in the land of Canaan; and Lot dwelt in the cities of the surrounding country, and pitched his tents as far as Sodom.

13 And the inhabitants of Sodom were wicked, and exceedingly sinful in the sight of the Lord.

14 And the Lord said to Abram, after Lot had separated from him, 'Lift up thine eyes, and from the place where thou art now, look to the north and to the south, and to the east and to the west;

15 For all the land which thou seest I will give thee, and to thy seed for ever,

16 And I will make thy seed as the sand of the earth; if any man can count the sand of the earth, thy descendants shall also be numbered;

17 Arise, and pass through this land in its longitude and breadth, for I will give it unto thee.

18 And Abram moved his tent, and went, and dwelt at the oak grove of Mamre, which is in Hebron; and there he built an altar to the Lord.

Chapter 14

1 And it came to pass in the days of Amraphel king of Shinar, and Arioch king of Elassar, and Chedorlaomer king of Elam, and Phidal king of Goim,

2 And they went to war against Berah king of Sodom, and against Birsha king of Gomorrah, and Shinab king of Admah, and Shemer king of Zeboim, and against Bela the king, which is Zoar.

3 All these were united in the valley of Siddim, where the Salt Sea is now.
