Bible. Books of the Holy Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments

And he declared unto you his covenant, which he commanded you to keep, the Decalogue, and wrote it on two tablets of stone.

And the Lord commanded me at that time to teach you statutes and laws, that you might do them in the land into which you are entering, that you might possess it.

Hold fast in your souls, that ye saw no form in that day, when the LORD spoke unto you in Horeb out of the midst of the fire,

lest ye be corrupted, and make for yourselves images of any idol, representing a man or a woman,

The images of any cattle that are on the earth, the images of any winged bird that flies under the heavens,

the image of any [reptile] crawling on the ground, the image of any fish that is in the waters below the earth;

And lest thou lookest unto heaven, and see the sun, and the moon, and the stars, and all the host of heaven, and be deceived, and worship them, and serve them, for the LORD thy God hath given them unto all the nations under all heaven.

But the Lord [God] took you, and brought you out of the furnace of iron out of Egypt, that you might be a people of his inheritance, as it is now seen.

And the Lord [God] was angry with me for your sake, and swore that I would not cross the Jordan, nor enter into that good land which the Lord your God gives you for an inheritance;

I will die in this land without going beyond the Jordan, but you will go over and possess that good land.

Take heed lest ye forget the covenant of the Lord your God, which he hath set with you, and that ye make unto yourselves idols, representing any thing, as the LORD thy God hath commanded thee.

For the LORD thy God is a consuming fire, a jealous God.

But if sons are born to you, and sons to [your sons], and you live long on the earth, you become corrupt, and make an image of anything, and do this evil in the sight of the LORD your God, and provoke him to anger,

then I testify unto you this day by heaven and earth, that ye shall soon lose the land wherein ye are going beyond the Jordan to inherit; you will not remain much time in it, but you will perish;
