Bible. Books of the Holy Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments

E-26 Now, I'm offering you a blessing and a curse tonight,

27 Blessing if you will obey the commandments of the Lord your God which I command you this day,

28 but a curse, if you do not obey the commandments of the Lord your God, and turn away from the way which I command you this day, and follow other gods, whom you do not know.

29 When the LORD your God brings you into the land into which you are going to possess it, then pronounce a blessing on Mount Gerizim, and a curse on Mount Ebal:

30 Behold, beyond the Jordan, on the way to the setting of the sun, in the land of the Canaanites, who dwell in the plain, opposite Gilgal, near the oak grove of Moreh.

31 For ye are crossing the Jordan, that ye may go and possess the land which the LORD your God is giving you, and ye shall possess it, and dwell in it.

32 Therefore take care to keep all the statutes and laws which I offer you today.

Chapter 12

1 These are the statutes and the laws which you shall endeavour to keep in the land which the LORD God of your fathers is giving you for your possession, all the days that you shall dwell in that land.

2 Destroy all the places where the nations which you possess have served their gods, on high mountains and hills, and under every branching tree;

3 And you shall break down their altars, and break down their pillars, and burn their groves with fire, and break the images of their gods, and destroy their name from that place.

4 Ye shall not do these things for the Lord your God;

5 but to the place which the LORD your God shall choose out of all your tribes, that his name may dwell there, turn and come there,

6 And thither ye shall offer your burnt offerings, and your sacrifices, and your tithes, and the offerings of your hands, and your vows, and your voluntary offerings, and the firstlings of your herds, and your flocks.
