Bible. Books of the Holy Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments

And the Lord God formed man out of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his face the breath of life, and man became a living soul.

And the Lord God planted a paradise in Eden in the east, and placed there the man whom he had created.

And the Lord God brought forth out of the earth every tree that was pleasant to look at, and good for food, and the tree of life in the midst of the garden, and the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.

A river went out of Eden to water the garden; and then it was divided into four rivers.

The name of one is Pison: she flows around the whole land of Havilah, the one where there is gold;

And the gold of the land is good; there is bdolah and the onyx stone.

The name of the second river is Gihon [Geon]: it flows around the whole land of Cush.

The name of the third river is Hiddekel [Tigris]: it flows before Assyria. The fourth river is the Euphrates.

And the Lord God took the man [whom he had created,] and dwelt him in the garden of Eden, to cultivate it and to keep it.

And the Lord God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden thou shalt eat,

but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil thou shalt not eat of it, for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.

And the Lord God said, It is not good for the man to be alone; let us make him a helper corresponding to him.

And the Lord God formed out of the earth all the beasts of the field, and all the fowls of the air, and brought them unto man, that he might see what he should call them, and that whatever man should call every living creature, that would be its name.

And the man called the names of all the cattle, and of the fowls of the air, and of every beast of the field; but for man there was no helper like him.
