The Old Testament (Part 1)

27 We will go into the wilderness, three days' journey, and offer sacrifice to the Lord our God, as [the Lord] shall tell us.

28 And Pharaoh said, 'I will let you go to offer sacrifice to the LORD your God in the wilderness, only do not go far; pray for me [the Lord].

29 Moses said, 'Behold, I am going out from you, and I will pray to the LORD, and the dogs of the flies shall depart from Pharaoh, and from his servants, and from his people tomorrow, only let Pharaoh cease to deceive, not letting the people offer sacrifice to the Lord.'

30 And Moses went out from Pharaoh and prayed to the Lord.

31 And the Lord did according to the word of Moses, and removed the flies of the dog from Pharaoh, and from his servants, and from his people: there was not one left.

32 But Pharaoh hardened his heart this time too, and would not let the people go.

Chapter 9

1 And the LORD said to Moses, "Go to Pharaoh and say to him, 'Thus says the Lord, the God of the Hebrews, Let my people go, that they may serve me;

2 For if thou wilt not let them go, and yet keep them,

3 Behold, the hand of the Lord shall be upon thy cattle, which are in the field, and on horses, and on asses, and on camels, and on oxen, and on sheep: there shall be a pestilence very grievous;

4 And the LORD shall divide between the cattle of Israel and the cattle of Egypt, and of all the children of Israel not one shall die.

5 And the Lord appointed a time, saying, Tomorrow the Lord will do it in this land.

6 And the Lord did this on the morrow, and all the cattle of Egypt perished; but of the cattle of the children of Israel nothing died.

7 Pharaoh sent to inquire, and behold, of all the cattle of the children of Israel, not one died. But Pharaoh's heart was hardened, and he would not let the people go.
