The Old Testament (Part 1)

Six days shalt thou do thy work, and on the seventh day shalt rest, that thy ox and thy ass may rest, and that the son of thy servant and the stranger may rest.

Observe all that I have told you, and do not mention the name of other gods; let it not be heard from your mouth.

Three times a year thou shalt celebrate unto me:

Thou shalt observe the feast of unleavened bread: Seven days thou shalt eat unleavened bread, as I commanded thee, at the appointed time of the month of Abib, for in it thou didst come out of Egypt. and let them not appear before me empty-handed;

Observe also the feast of the harvest of the firstfruits of thy labour, which thou hast sown in the field, and the feast of the gathering of the fruit at the end of the year, when thou shalt take away thy work from the field.

Three times a year all thy males shall appear before the Lord [thy] Lord.

[When I have driven out the Gentiles from before thee, and have enlarged thy borders], thou shalt not pour out the blood of my sacrifice on leaven, neither shall the fat of my feast sacrifice remain until the morning.

Thou shalt offer the firstfruits of thy land into the house of the Lord thy God. Thou shalt not boil a kid in its mother's milk.

Behold, I send before you an angel to keep you on the way, and to bring you into the place which I have prepared for you.

Guard thyself before him, and hear his voice; do not persist against Him, for He will not forgive your sin, for My name is in Him.

If you will hearken to my voice, and do all that I say to you, and keep my covenant, you will be my chosen people out of all the nations, for all the land is mine. then I will be an enemy of thy enemies, and an adversary of thy adversaries.

And when my angel shall go before thee, and bring thee unto the Amorites, and the Hittites, and the Perizzites, and the Canaanites, and the Hivites, and the Jebusites, and have destroyed them,

then thou shalt not worship their gods, nor serve them, nor imitate their works, but thou shalt break them down, and break down their pillars.

Serve the LORD your God, and he will bless your bread and your water. and I will turn away sickness from you.
