Prayer for the Living

Save, O Lord, and have mercy on my spiritual father (name), my parents (names), relatives (names), superiors, mentors, benefactors (their names) and all Orthodox Christians.

Prayer for the departed

Give rest, O Lord, to the souls of Thy departed servants: my parents, relatives, benefactors (their names), and all Orthodox Christians, and forgive them all their sins, voluntary and involuntary, and grant them the Kingdom of Heaven.

If you can, read this commemoration book instead of short prayers for the living and the departed:

About the living

Remember, O Lord Jesus Christ our God, Thy mercies and mercies from all eternity, for whose sake Thou didst become man, and Thou didst deign to endure crucifixion and death for the sake of salvation for the sake of the right of those who believe in Thee; And Thou hast risen from the dead, Thou hast ascended into heaven, and hast sat at the right hand of God the Father, and hast looked upon the humble supplications of those who call upon Thee with all their hearts: incline Thy ear, and hear the humble supplication of me, Thy useless servant, into the stench of the fragrance of the Spirit, which brings Thee for all Thy people.

And first remember Thy Holy, Catholic and Apostolic Church, which Thou hast endowed with Thy precious Blood, and strengthen, and strengthen, and expand, multiply, pacify, and preserve the gates of hell insurmountably for ever; Quench the tearing of the Churches, quench the vacillation of the pagans, and quickly destroy and eradicate the heresies of rising, and turn into nothing by the power of Thy Holy Spirit (bow).

Save, O Lord, and have mercy on our God-preserved country, its powers and armies, protect their realm with peace, and subdue every enemy and adversary under the nose of the Orthodox, and speak peacefully and good in their hearts about Thy Holy Church, and about all Thy people: that we may live a quiet and silent life in orthodoxy, and in all piety and purity (bow).

Save, O Lord, and have mercy on our Great Lord and Father, His Holiness Patriarch Kirill, Your Eminence the Metropolitans, Archbishops and Bishops of the Orthodox, priests and deacons, and all the clergy of the Church, who have appointed Thou to shepherd Thy verbal flock, and through their prayers have mercy on me and save me, a sinner (bow).

Save, O Lord, and have mercy on my spiritual father (his name), and by his holy prayers forgive my sins (bow).

Save, O Lord, and have mercy on my parents (their names), brothers and sisters, and my kinsmen in the flesh, and all my neighbors and friends, and grant them Thy peace and the most peaceful good (bow).

Save, O Lord, and have mercy on all the hieromonks, monks and nuns, and all in virginity and reverence and fasting, who live in monasteries, in deserts, in caves, in mountains, pillars, caves, stone clefts, islands of the sea, and in every place of Thy dominion faithfully living, and piously serving Thee, and praying to Thee: ease their burden, and console their sorrow, and give them strength and strength for their struggle in Thee, and grant me the forgiveness of sins (prostration) through their prayers.
