King David

Psalm

PRAYERS BEFORE THE READING OF THE PSALTER

Let it be reasonable, as befits an individual to sing the Psalter

If a priest says:

Blessed be our God, always, now and ever, and unto the ages of ages.

If not, say with tenderness:

Through the prayers of our holy fathers, Lord Jesus Christ our God, have mercy on us.

Amen. Heavenly King. The Trisagion. And according to the Lord's Prayer...

These troparia, tone 6:

Have mercy on us, O Lord, have mercy on us, for we are perplexed by every answer, we offer this prayer to Thee, as to the Lord of sin: have mercy on us.

Glory: Honorable triumph of Thy prophet, O Lord, the Church of Heaven is shown, the angels rejoice with men. By his prayers, O Christ God, rule our life in peace, that we may sing Thee: Alleluia.

And now: O Theotokos, I have turned to Thee many of my multitude, O Pure One, demanding salvation: visit my feeble soul and pray to Thy Son and our God to grant me forgiveness, O Blessed One.

Lord, have mercy (40). And bow down as mightily as possible.

The same prayer to the Holy Life-Giving Trinity

O All-Holy Trinity, God and Creator of all the world, hasten and direct my heart, begin with understanding and end with good deeds these divinely inspired books, which the Holy Spirit will regurgitate from the mouth of David, which I now desire to speak, O unworthy one, but understanding my ignorance, I fall down and pray to Thee, and ask Thee for help: O Lord, direct my mind and strengthen my heart, not for the words of the Lord, I will not be cold, but rejoice in the understanding of those who speak, and prepare myself to do good works, which I am learning, and I say, That I may be enlightened by good works, that I may be partaker of the judgment of Thy right hand of the land with all Thy elect. And now, O Lord, bless, that I may sigh from my heart, and sing with my tongue, saying to the Lord:

Come, let us worship our King God.

Come, let us worship and fall down before Christ, our King God.

Come, let us worship and fall down before Christ Himself, our King and God.

In the same way, it is not enough, until all feelings are calmed. Then do not make the beginning quickly, without sloth, with tenderness and a broken heart. Rcy cue: "Blessed is the man..." quietly and intelligently, with attention, and not struggling, as one understands with one's mind.
