2 And the feast of the Jews drew nigh, the setting up of tabernacles.  3 Then his brethren said to him, 'Come out of here, and go into Judea, that your disciples also may see the works that you are doing.'  4 For no one does anything in secret, but seeks to be known himself. If You do such things, then manifest Yourself to the world.  5 For even his brethren did not believe in him.  6 And Jesus said to them, "My time has not yet come, but it is always time for you."  7 The world cannot hate you, but it hates me, because I bear witness of him that his works are evil.  8 Ye shall go to this feast; but I will not yet go to this feast, because My time has not yet come.  9 And having said these things to them, he remained in Galilee.

     10 But when his brethren came, then he also came to the feast, not openly, but as it were in secret.  11 And the Jews sought him at the feast, and said, Where is he?  12 And there was much talk about him among the people: some said that he was good; and others said, "No, but he deceives the people."  13 Yet no one spoke of him openly, for fear of the Jews.  14 But it was already the middle of the feast that Jesus went into the temple and taught.  15 And the Jews were amazed, saying, 'How does he know the Scriptures, not having learned?'  16 Jesus answered them, saying, 'My teaching is not mine, but Him who sent me;  17 Whosoever will do his will shall know of this doctrine, whether it be of God, or whether I speak of myself.  18 He who speaks of himself seeks glory for himself; but he who seeks glory to him who sent him is true, and there is no unrighteousness in him.  19 Did not Moses give you the law? And none of you walks according to the law. Why do you seek to kill Me?  20 And the people answered and said, 'Is there not a devil in you?' who seeks to kill you?  21 And Jesus, continuing his speech, said unto them, 'I have done a certain thing, and ye are all amazed.'  22 Moses gave you circumcision [though it is not from Moses, but from the fathers], and on the Sabbath you circumcise a man.  23 If a man is circumcised on the Sabbath, that the law of Moses may not be broken, are ye angry with me, because I healed the whole man on the sabbath?  24 Judge not by appearances, but judge with righteous judgment.  25 And some of the people of Jerusalem said, 'Is this not the one whom they seek to kill?'  26 Behold, he speaketh plainly, and say nothing unto him, Have not the rulers been convinced that he is indeed the Christ?  27 But we know Him whence He comes; When Christ comes, no one will know where He comes from.  28 Then Jesus cried out in the temple, teaching and saying, "And you know me, and you know where I come from; and I have not come of myself, but he who sent me is true, whom you do not know.  29 I know Him because I am of Him, and He sent Me.  30 And they sought to seize him, but no man laid hands on him, because his hour had not yet come.  31 And many of the people believed in him, and said, 'When Christ comes, will he do more signs than this one has done?'  32 And when the Pharisees heard such talk about him among the people, the Pharisees and the chief priests sent ministers to seize him.  33 And Jesus said unto them, 'I shall not be long with you, and I will go to him who sent me;  34 ye shall seek me, and ye shall not find me; and where I am, there you cannot come.  35 And the Jews said among themselves, 'Where does he want to go, so that we shall not find him?' Does He not want to go into the Hellenic diaspora and teach the Greeks?  36 What is the meaning of these words which he said, 'You will seek me, and you will not find me; and where I am, there you cannot come?

    37 And on the last great day of the feast Jesus stood and cried out, saying, 'Whosoever thirst, let him come to me and drink.'  38 Whosoever believeth on me, as it is said in the Scriptures, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water.  39 These things he said concerning the Spirit, which those who believe in him had to receive: for the Holy Spirit was not yet upon them, because Jesus was not yet glorified.  40 And many of the people, when they heard these words, said, 'He is surely a prophet.'  E-41 Others said, "This is Christ." And some said, "Will Christ come from Galilee?"  42 Does not the Scripture say that Christ will come from the seed of David, and from Bethlehem, from the place where David was?  43 And there was a strife among the people about him.  44 Some of them wanted to seize Him; but no one laid hands on Him.  45 So the ministers returned to the chief priests and the Pharisees, and these said to them, 'Why did you not bring him?'  E-46 The ministers answered, "Never did a man speak like this man."  47 And the Pharisees said unto them, Have ye also been deceived?  48 Did any of the rulers, or of the Pharisees, believe in him?  49 But this people are ignorant of the law, accursed are they.  50 Nicodemus, who came to him by night, being one of them, said to them, 51 Does our law judge a man, unless they first hear him, and know what he is doing?  52 And they said to him, 'Are you not also of Galilee?' look and see that there is no prophet coming from Galilee.  53 And they all went to their homes.

     1 And Jesus went up to the Mount of Olives.  2 And in the morning he came again to the temple, and all the people went to him. He sat down and taught them.  3 Then the scribes and the Pharisees brought to him a woman who had been taken in adultery, and having set her in the midst, 4 they said to him, 'Teacher! this woman was taken in adultery;  5 And Moses in the law commanded us to stone such people: What wilt thou say?  6 And they said these things, tempting him, that they might find something to accuse him. But Jesus, bending low, wrote with his finger on the ground, paying no attention to them.  7 And when they continued to question him, he lifted himself up, and said to them, 'He who is without sin among you, let him be the first to cast a stone at her.'  8 And again, stooping low, he wrote on the ground.  9 And when they heard these things, and were rebuked by their consciences, they began to depart one by one, from the elders to the last; and only Jesus remained, and the woman standing in the middle.  10 And Jesus, having lifted himself up, and seeing none but the woman, said unto her, 'Woman! Where are your accusers? Has no one condemned you?  11 And she answered, 'None, Lord.' Jesus said to her, "Neither do I condemn you; go and sin no more.

     12 And Jesus spoke again to the people, and said to them, 'I am the light of the world; whoever follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.  13 Then the Pharisees said to him, 'You bear witness of yourself, your testimony is not true.'  14 Jesus answered and said to them, "If I also bear witness of myself, my testimony is true; for I know whence I came, and whither I am going; but you do not know whence I am and whither I am going.  15 You judge according to the flesh; I don't judge anyone.  16 And if I judge, my judgment is true, for I am not alone, but I am also the Father who sent me.  17 And it is written in your law that the testimony of two men is true.  18 I bear witness of myself, and the Father who sent me bears witness of me.  19 Then they said to him, 'Where is your Father?' Jesus answered, "You know neither Me nor My Father; if you had known me, you would have known my Father also.  20 These are the words that Jesus spake at the treasury when he was teaching in the temple; and no man took him, because his hour had not yet come.  21 And Jesus said to them again, 'I am departing, and ye shall seek me, and ye shall die in your sin.' Where I go, you cannot come.  22 And the Jews said, 'Shall he kill himself?'  23 And he said unto them, Ye are of the lowest, I am of the highest; you are of this world, I am not of this world.  24 Therefore I told you that you would die in your sins; for if you do not believe that it is I, you will die in your sins.  25 Then they said to him, 'Who are you?' Jesus said to them, "From the beginning I am, just as I say to you."  26 I have much to say, and to judge of you; but He who sent Me is true, and what I have heard from Him, that I also say to the world.  27 They did not understand what He was saying to them about the Father.  28 So Jesus said to them, 'When you have lifted up the Son of man, then you will know that it is I, and that I do nothing of myself, but as my Father has taught me, so I say.'  29 He who sent Me is with Me; The Father has not left Me alone, for I always do what pleases Him.  E-30 As He said these things, many believed on Him.  31 Then Jesus said to the Jews who believed in him, 'If you continue in my word, you are truly my disciples,32 and you will know the truth, and the truth will make you free.'  33 And they answered him, 'We are Abraham's seed, and have never been slaves to any man; how then sayest thou, Ye shall be made free?  34 Jesus answered them, "Verily, verily, I say to you, everyone who commits sin is a slave of sin."  35 But the servant does not abide in the house forever; The Son abides eternally.  36 Therefore, if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.  37 I know that you are the seed of Abraham; yet you seek to kill me, because my word cannot be contained in you.  38 I say what I have seen with my Father; but you do what you have seen in your father.  39 And they answered and said unto him, 'Our father is Abraham.' Jesus said to them, "If you were the children of Abraham, you would do the works of Abraham."  40 And now seek ye to kill me, the man who hath told you the truth which I have heard from God, that Abraham did not do it.  41 You do the works of your father. And they said to him, We are not born of fornication; we have one Father, God.  42 Jesus said to them, 'If God were your Father, you would love me, because I came from God and came; for I did not come of myself, but he sent me.  43 Why do you not understand My speech? For you cannot hear my words.  E-44 Your father is the devil; and you want to fulfill the lusts of your father. He was a murderer from the beginning, and did not stand in the truth, for there is no truth in him. When he speaks lies, he speaks his own, for he is a liar and the father of lies.  45 And because I speak the truth, do not believe Me.  46 Which of you will convict Me of unrighteousness? But if I speak the truth, why do you not believe Me?  47 He who is of God hears the words of God. You do not listen because you are not of God.  48 And the Jews answered and said unto him, 'Is it not true that we say that thou art a Samaritan, and that a demon is in thee?'  49 Jesus answered, "There is no demon in me; but I honor my Father, and you dishonor me.  50 Yet I do not seek my glory: there is one who seeks and one who judges.  51 Verily, verily, I say unto you, whosoever keepeth my word shall never see death.  52 And the Jews said unto him, 'Now we know that the devil is in thee.' Abraham died, and the prophets, and Thou sayest, Whosoever keepeth My word shall never taste death.  53 Are you greater than our father Abraham, who died? and the prophets are dead: with what do you make yourself?  54 Jesus answered, "If I glorify myself, my glory is nothing." My Father glorifies me, of whom you say that he is your God.  55 And ye have not known him, but I know him; and if I say that I do not know Him, I will be a liar like you. But I know Him and keep His word.  56 Abraham your father was glad to see my day; and he saw and rejoiced.  57 And the Jews said unto him, Thou art not yet fifty years old, and hast thou seen Abraham?  58 Jesus said to them, "Verily, verily, I say to you, before Abraham was, I am."  59 Then they took stones to throw at him; but Jesus hid himself, and went out of the temple, passing through the midst of them, and went on.

     1 And as he passed, he saw a man blind from birth.  2 And his disciples asked him, 'Rabbi! Who sinned, he or his parents, that he was born blind?  3 Jesus answered, "Neither he nor his parents have sinned, but this is that the works of God may be manifested in him."  4 I must do the works of him who sent me, while there is a day; the night comes when no one can do.  5 As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world.  6 And when he had said these things, he spat on the ground, and made a spittle of spittle, and anointed the eyes of the blind man, 7 and said unto him, Go and wash thyself in the pool of Siloam, which is to say, he who was sent. He went and washed, and came seeing.  8 Then the neighbors, and those who had seen before that he was blind, said, 'Is this not the one who sat and begged?'  9 And some said, 'This is he,' and others, 'He is like him.' And he said, "It's me."  10 Then they asked him, 'How were your eyes opened?'  11 And he answered and said, 'The man called Jesus has made clay, and anointed my eyes, and said to me, 'Go to the pool of Siloam and wash yourself.' I went, washed my face, and regained my sight.  12 Then they said to him, 'Where is he?' He answered, "I don't know."  13 And they took this former blind man to the Pharisees.  14 And it was the Sabbath when Jesus made the frailty, and opened his eyes.  15 And the Pharisees also asked him how he had received his sight. He said to them, "He has put clay in my eyes, and I have washed, and I see."  16 Then some of the Pharisees said, "This man is not of God, because he does not keep the Sabbath." Others said: how can a sinful man work such miracles? And there was strife between them.  17 Again they say to the blind man, 'What say thou of him, because he hath opened thy eyes?' He said, "He's a prophet."  18 Then the Jews did not believe that he was blind and had received his sight, until they had called the parents of this one who had received his sight, 19 and asked them, 'Is this your son of whom you say that he was born blind?' How does he see now?  20 And his parents answered and said unto them, 'We know that this is our son, and that he was born blind,' 21 but how he sees now we do not know, or who opened his eyes, we do not know.' He himself is of perfect age; ask yourself; Let him talk about himself.  22 Thus answered his parents, because they feared the Jews; for the Jews have already conspired that whoever acknowledges Him to be Christ should be excommunicated from the synagogue.  23 Wherefore his parents said, 'He is of perfect years; Ask yourself.  24 So they called a man a second time, who was blind, and said to him, 'Give glory to God; we know that That Man is a sinner.  25 And he answered and said unto them, 'Whether he is a sinner, I do not know; One thing I know is that I was blind, and now I see.  26 And they asked him again, 'What has he done to you?' How did He open Thy eyes?  27 And he answered them, 'I have already told you, and you have not heard; What else do you want to hear? or do you also want to become His disciples?  28 And they rebuked him, and said, 'You are his disciple, and we are the disciples of Moses.'  29 We know that God spoke to Moses; But we do not know whence He comes.  30 And the man who had received his sight answered and said unto them, 'It is strange that ye know not whence he comes, but he hath opened my eyes.'  31 But we know that God does not listen to sinners; but whoever honors God and does His will listens to him.  32 From eternity it has not been heard that a man opened the eyes of a man born blind.  33 If He were not of God, He could not do nothing.  34 And they answered and said unto him, Thou art all born in sins, and dost thou teach us? And they threw him out.  35 When Jesus heard that they had cast him out, and found him, he said to him, "Do you believe in the Son of God?"  36 And he answered, and said, 'Who is he, Lord, that I should believe in him?'  37 Jesus said to him, "And you have seen him, and he is speaking to you."  38 And he said, 'I believe, O Lord! And he worshipped Him.

     39 And Jesus said, 'I have come into this world for judgment, that those who do not see may see, and those who see may become blind.'  40 And when some of the Pharisees who were with him heard this, they said to him, 'Are we also blind?'  41 Jesus said to them, "If you were blind, you would not have sin on you; but as you say that you see, the sin remains upon you.

     1 Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whosoever does not enter into the sheepfold by the door, but climbeth over the other, is a thief and a robber;  2 And he who enters by the door is a shepherd to the sheep.  3 To him the door-keeper openeth, and the sheep hearken unto his voice, and he calls his sheep by name, and brings them out.  4 And when he brings forth his sheep, he goes before them; but the sheep follow him, because they know his voice.  5 But they do not follow a stranger, but flee from him, because they do not know the voice of a stranger.  6 This parable Jesus spake unto them; but they did not understand what he was saying to them.  7 So Jesus said to them again, 'Verily, verily, I say to you, that I am the door of the sheep.'  8 As many as they have come before me, they are thieves and robbers; but the sheep did not listen to them.  9 I am the door: whosoever enters in by me shall be saved, and shall enter in, and go out, and shall find pasture.  10 A thief comes only to steal, kill, and destroy. I came that they might have life, and have it more abundantly.  11 I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep.  12 But the hireling, not a shepherd, to whom the sheep are not his own, sees the wolf coming, and leaves the sheep, and flees; and the wolf plunders the sheep, and scatters them.  13 But the hireling flees because he is a hireling, and cares not for the sheep.  14 I am the good shepherd; and I know mine, and mine know me.  15 As the Father knows me, so do I know the Father; and I lay down my life for the sheep.  16 And I have other sheep that are not of this fold, and these I must bring: and they shall hear my voice, and there shall be one flock and one Shepherd.  17 Therefore the Father loves me, that I lay down my life, that I might take it up again.  18 No one takes it away from me, but I give it myself. I have the power to give it up, and I have the power to receive it again. This commandment I have received from My Father.  19 At these words there arose again strife among the Jews.  20 Many of them said, "He is possessed of a demon and is mad; Why do you listen to Him?  21 And others said, These are not the words of a demoniac man; Can the demon open the eyes of the blind?

     22 And then the feast of the dedication came to Jerusalem, and it was winter.  23 And Jesus walked in the temple, in Solomon's porch.  24 Then the Jews encircled him, and said unto him, How long shall thou keep us perplexed? if you are the Christ, tell us plainly.  25 Jesus answered them, "I have told you, and you do not believe; the works that I do in the name of my Father, they bear witness to me.  26 But you do not believe, for you are not of my sheep, as I have told you.  27 My sheep obey my voice, and I know them; and they come after me.  28 And I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; and no man shall snatch them out of my hand.  29 My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all; and no man can snatch them out of my Father's hand.  E-30 I and the Father are one.  31 Here again the Jews took up stones to beat Him.  32 Jesus answered them, 'I have shown you many good works from my Father; for which of them do you stone me?  33 And the Jews answered and said unto him, 'We do not want to stone thee for a good deed, but for blasphemy, and because thou, being a man, make thyself God.'  34 Jesus answered them, 'Is it not written in your law, 'I said, 'You are gods?'  35 If He called gods those to whom the word of God came, and the Scriptures cannot be broken, 36 Do you say, To Him whom the Father sanctified and sent into the world, do you say, 'You blaspheme, because I said, 'I am the Son of God'?  37 If I do not the works of my Father, believe me not;  38 And if I do, when you do not believe me, believe my works, that you may know and believe that the Father is in me, and I in him.  39 Then again they sought to seize him; but he turned away from their hands, 40 and went again across the Jordan, to the place where John had baptized before, and remained there.  41 Many came to Him and said that John had not performed any miracle, but all that John had said about Him was true.  E-42 And many there believed on Him.

     1 And there was a certain Lazarus of Bethany, of the village where Mary and her sister Martha dwelt.  2 And Mary, with whom brother Lazarus was sick, was she who anointed the Lord with myrrh, and wiped his feet with her hair.  3 And the sisters sent to say unto him, Lord! behold, whom Thou lovest, sick.  4 And when Jesus heard this, he said, "This sickness is not unto death, but to the glory of God, that the Son of God may be glorified through it."  5 And Jesus loved Martha, and her sister, and Lazarus.  6 And when he heard that he was sick, he tarried two days in the place where he was.  7 And he said unto the disciples, Let us go again into Judea.  8 And the disciples said to him, "Rabbi! how long have the Jews sought to stone Thee, and Thou art going thither again?  9 Jesus answered, 'Are there not twelve hours in the day?' He who walks by day does not stumble, because he sees the light of this world;  10 But he who walks by night stumbles, because there is no light with him.  11 And when he had said these things, he said to them, 'Lazarus our friend has fallen asleep; but I am going to wake him up.  12 His disciples said, "Lord! if he fell asleep, he will recover.  13 Jesus was talking about his death, and they thought he was talking about an ordinary dream.  14 Then Jesus said to them plainly, 'Lazarus is dead;  15 and I rejoice for you, that I was not there, that ye might believe; but let us go to him.  16 Then Thomas, otherwise called the Twin, said to the disciples, "Let us go and die with him."  17 When Jesus came, he found that he had already been in the tomb for four days.  18 And Bethany was near Jerusalem, about fifteen stades;  19 And many of the Jews came to Martha and Mary to comfort them in their sorrow for their brother.  20 And when Martha heard that Jesus was coming, she went to meet him; Maria was sitting at home.  21 Then Martha said to Jesus, "Lord! if you had been here, my brother would not have died.  22 But even now I know that whatever you ask of God, God will give you.  23 Jesus said to her, "Your brother will rise again."  24 Martha said to him, "I know that he will rise again in the resurrection, on the last day."  25 Jesus said to her, "I am the resurrection and the life; he who believes in Me, though he die, shall live.  26 And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Do you believe this?  27 She said to Him, 'Yes, Lord! I believe that you are the Christ, the Son of God, coming into the world.  28 And when she had said these things, she went and called Mary her sister secretly, saying, 'The Master is here, and he is calling you.'  29 As soon as she heard, she got up in haste, and went to him.  30 Jesus had not yet entered the village, but he was at the place where Martha had met Him.  31 And the Jews, who were with her in the house, and comforted her, seeing that Mary got up in haste and went out, followed her, thinking that she had gone to the tomb to weep there.  32 And Mary, having come to where Jesus was, and seeing him, fell down at his feet, and said to him, 'Lord! if you had been here, my brother would not have died.  33 And when Jesus saw her weeping, and the Jews who had come with her, weeping, he himself was grieved in spirit, and was troubled, 34 and said, 'Where have you laid him?' They said to him: Lord! Go and see.  E-35 Jesus shed tears.  36 Then the Jews said, 'See how he loved him.'  37 And some of them said, 'Could not this one, who opened the eyes of the blind man, cause this one also not to die?'  38 But Jesus, again grieving inwardly, comes to the tomb. It was a cave, and a stone lay on it.  39 Jesus says, "Take away the stone." The sister of the deceased, Martha, said to Him: "Lord! already stinks; for four days he was in the tomb.  40 Jesus said to her, 'Did I not tell you that if you believe, you will see the glory of God?'  41 So they took away the stone from the cave where the dead man lay. And Jesus lifted up his eyes to heaven and said, "Father, forgive them! thank you for hearing me.  42 And I knew that thou wouldst always hear me; but I have said these things for the people standing here, that they may believe that you have sent me.  43 And when he had said this, he cried out with a loud voice, Lazarus! Go away.  44 And the dead man went forth, bound hand and foot in grave clothes, and his face was bound with a handkerchief. Jesus said to them, "Loose him, let him go."  45 Then many of the Jews who came to Mary and saw what Jesus had done, believed in him.  46 And some of them went to the Pharisees and told them what Jesus had done.
