28 After this, Jesus, knowing that all things were already finished, that the Scripture might be fulfilled, said, 'I thirst.'  29 There was a vessel full of vinegar. The soldiers, having drunk a sponge with vinegar and put it on hyssop, brought it to His lips.  30 And when Jesus had tasted the vinegar, he said, 'It is finished!' And bowing his head, he gave up his spirit.

     31 But since it was Friday then, the Jews, in order not to leave the bodies on the cross on the Sabbath, for that was a great day, asked Pilate to break their legs and take them off.  32 So the soldiers came, and they broke the legs of the first, and the other who was crucified with him.  33 But when they came to Jesus, when they saw him already dead, they did not break his legs, 34 but one of the soldiers pierced his side with a spear, and immediately blood and water flowed out.  35 And he that hath seen hath testified, and his testimony is true; He knows that he speaks the truth so that you will believe.  36 For these things have come to pass, that the Scripture may be fulfilled: let not his bone be broken.  37 Also in another place the Scripture says, 'They shall look upon him whom they have pierced.'

     38 After these things Joseph of Arimathea, a disciple of Jesus, but secretly out of fear of the Jews, asked Pilate to take down the body of Jesus; and Pilate allowed it. He went and took down the body of Jesus.  39 And Nicodemus also came, who had come to Jesus by night, and brought a mixture of myrrh and aloe, about a hundred liters.  40 So they took the body of Jesus and wrapped it in swaddling clothes with spices, as the Jews usually bury.  41 In the place where He was crucified, there was a garden, and in the garden a new sepulchre, in which no one had yet been laid.  E-42 Jesus was laid there for the sake of the Friday of the Jews, because the tomb was near.

     1 On the very first day of the week, Mary Magdalene came to the tomb early, while it was still dark, and saw that the stone had been rolled away from the tomb.  2 So he ran and came to Simon Peter and to another disciple whom Jesus loved, and said to them, 'They have taken the Lord out of the tomb, and we do not know where they have laid him.'  3 Immediately Peter and the other disciple went out, and went to the sepulchre.  4 And they both ran together; but the other disciple fled faster than Peter, and came to the tomb first.  5 And stooping down, he saw the swaddling clothes lying there; but he did not enter the tomb.  6 After him came Simon Peter, and entered into the tomb, and saw only the swaddling clothes lying down, 7 and the cloth that was on his head, not lying with swaddling clothes, but specially twisted in another place.  8 Then another disciple also came in, who had first come to the sepulchre, and saw, and believed.  9 For they did not yet know from the Scriptures that he was to rise from the dead.  10 So the disciples returned to their homes again.

     11 And Mary stood by the tomb and wept. And while she was weeping, she bent down into the tomb, 12 and saw two angels sitting in white robes, one at the head and the other at the feet, where the body of Jesus lay.  13 And they said to her, 'Wife! Why are you crying? He said to them, "They have taken away my Lord, and I do not know where they have laid Him."  14 And when she had said these things, she turned back, and saw Jesus standing; but she did not know that it was Jesus.  15 Jesus said to her, "Woman! Why are you crying? Who are you looking for? She, thinking that it was the gardener, said to Him, "Lord! if thou hast carried Him out, tell me where thou hast laid Him, and I will take Him.  16 Jesus said to her, "Mary! She turned and said to Him, "Rabbi! - what does it mean: Teacher!  17 Jesus said to her, 'Do not touch me, for I have not yet ascended to my Father; but go unto my brethren, and say unto them, I ascend unto my Father and your Father, and unto my God and your God.  18 Mary Magdalene goes and announces to the disciples that she has seen the Lord and that He has told her this.

     19 And on the evening of the first day of the week, when the doors of the house where his disciples were gathered were shut, for fear of the Jews, Jesus came, and stood in the midst, and said unto them, Peace be unto you.  20 And when he had said these things, he showed them his hands and feet and his side. The disciples rejoiced when they saw the Lord.  21 And Jesus said unto them a second time, Peace be unto you. as the Father has sent me, so do I send you.  22 And when he had said this, he blew, and said unto them, Receive ye the Holy Ghost.  23 To whom ye forgive sins, they shall be forgiven; on whom you leave, they will remain.  E-24 But Thomas, one of the twelve, called the Twin, was not here with them when Jesus came.  25 The other disciples said to him, "We have seen the Lord." But he said unto them, Unless I see the wounds of the nails in his hands, and put my finger into the wounds of the nails, and put my hand into his side, I will not believe.

     26 And after eight days his disciples were again in the house, and Thomas with them. Jesus came, when the doors were shut, stood in the midst of them, and said, Peace be unto you!  27 Then he said to Thomas, 'Put your finger hither, and see my hands; Give thy hand and put it into my side; and do not be unbelieving, but believing.  28 Thomas answered and said to him, 'My Lord and my God!  29 Jesus said to him, "You have believed because you have seen me; blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.

     30 And Jesus did many other wonders before his disciples, which are not written in this book.  31 And these things are written, that ye may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that by believing ye may have life in his name.

     1 And Jesus appeared again to his disciples by the sea of Tiberias. And he appeared thus: 2 were together Simon Peter, and Thomas, who is called the Twin, and Nathanael of Cana of Galilee, and the sons of Zebedee, and two others of His disciples.  3 Simon Peter said to them, 'I am going to fish.' They said to him, "We are also going with you." They went and immediately entered the boat, and caught nothing that night.  4 And when the morning was come, Jesus was standing on the shore; but the disciples did not know that it was Jesus.  5 Jesus said to them, "Children! Do you have any food? They answered Him, No.  6 And he said to them, 'Cast your net on the right side of the boat, and you will catch it.' They threw it, and could no longer pull out the nets from the multitude of fish.  7 Then the disciple whom Jesus loved said to Peter, "This is the Lord." And when Simon Peter heard that it was the Lord, he girded himself with a garment, for he was naked, and threw himself into the sea.  8 And the other disciples sailed in a boat, for they were not far from the land, about two hundred cubits, dragging a net with a fish.  9 And when they came out on the ground, they saw a fire broken up, and fish and bread lying on it.  10 Jesus said to them, "Bring the fish that you have now caught."  11 Simon Peter went and pulled out a net on the ground, filled with large fish, one hundred and fifty-three; And with such a multitude, the net did not break.  12 Jesus said to them, "Come, have your meals." None of the disciples dared to ask Him, "Who art Thou?" knowing that it was the Lord.  13 Jesus comes, takes bread, and gives them fish, too.  14 This is the third time that Jesus appeared to his disciples after his resurrection from the dead.

     15 And it came to pass, as they were suppering, that Jesus said to Simon Peter, "Simon Jonah! Do you love Me more than they do? Peter said to Him, "Yes, Lord! You know I love You. Jesus said to him, "Feed my lambs."  16 And another time he saith unto him, Simon Jonah! Do you love Me? Peter said to Him, "Yes, Lord! You know I love You. Jesus said to him, "Feed my sheep." 17 He said to him a third time, "Simon Jonah! Do you love Me? Peter was grieved that he had asked him for the third time, "Do you love me?" And he said to Him, Lord! You know everything; You know I love You. Jesus said to him, "Feed my sheep."  18 Verily, verily, I say unto thee, when thou wast young, thou didst gird thyself, and went whither thou wouldst; but when you are old, you will stretch out your hands, and another will gird you up, and lead you whither you will not.  19 And he said this, giving to understand by what death Peter would glorify God. And having said this, he said to him, "Follow me."  20 And when Peter was converted, he saw the disciple coming after him, whom Jesus loved, and who at supper, bowing down to his breast, said, "Lord! who will betray you?  21 When Peter saw him, he said to Jesus, "Lord! And what about him?  22 Jesus said to him, "If I want him to remain until I come, what does it matter to you?" thou shalt follow me.  23 And this word went out among the brethren, that the disciple should not die. But Jesus did not tell him that he would not die, but, "If I want him to remain until I come, what does it matter to you?"  24 This disciple also beareth witness of these things, and wrote these things; and we know that his testimony is true.  25 And many other things did Jesus do; but, if I were to write about this in detail, then, I think, the world itself would not be able to contain the books written. Amen.
