[260] For the life of the body is in the blood, and I have appointed it for you for the altar to make atonement for your souls, for this blood makes atonement for the soul; for the life of every body is its blood, it is its life; Therefore I said to the children of Israel, You shall not eat the blood of any body, for the life of every body is its blood: whosoever eateth it shall be cut off.

[261] Only you shall not eat blood: you shall pour it out on the ground as water.

[262] A man guilty of shedding human blood will run to the grave lest anyone seize him.

[263] For it is impossible that the blood of bulls and goats should destroy sins.

[264] for the law was given through Moses; but grace and truth came through Jesus Christ.

[265] If an ox gores a man or a woman to death, the ox shall be stoned, and its flesh shall not be eaten; but the owner of the ox is not to blame;

[266] An eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth, a hand for an arm, a foot for a leg

[267] fracture for fracture, eye for eye, tooth for tooth; As he has done the injury on the body of man, so must he do it.

[268] And he killed him, and he died. And David said to him, Thy blood is on thy head: for thy mouth bore witness against thee, when thou said, I have slain the anointed of the Lord.

[269] And I will make a covenant of peace with them, and I will remove the fierce beasts from the earth, so that they may dwell safely in the desert and sleep in the forests.

[270] And I will make a covenant of peace with them, an everlasting covenant with them. And I will build them, and multiply them, and set my sanctuary among them for ever.

[271] And I will make an everlasting covenant with them, that I will not turn away from them to do good to them, and I will put my fear in their hearts, that they may not depart from me.

[272] The Lord roared in the heavens, and the Most High gave His voice, hail and coals of fire.

[273] … I saw, as it were, a kind of fire, and the radiance was around it. In what form the rainbow on the clouds is during the rain, such was the appearance of this radiance all around.
