[1225] And when they had entered into the house, they saw the child with Mary his mother, and fell down and worshipped him; and having opened their treasures, they brought him gifts: gold, frankincense, and myrrh.

[1226] Abram was ninety-nine years old, and the Lord appeared to Abram and said to him, "I am God Almighty; walk before me, and be blameless;

[1227] And God Almighty bless you, and multiply you, and multiply you, and let there be a multitude of nations from you...

[1228] Go and gather together all the Jews who are in Shushan and fast for my sake, and do not eat or drink three days, day or night, and I will also fast with my maidservants, and then I will go to the king, although it is against the law, and if I perish, I will perish.

[1229] If we decide to go to the city, there is famine in the city, and we will die there; but if we sit here, we will also die. Let us rather go to the camp of Syria. If they let us live, we will live, and if they kill us, we will die.

[1230] but if the sun rises on him, the blood shall be imputed to him. The thief must pay; and if there is nothing, then let them sell it to pay for what he stole;

[1231] then you will say, 'We, your servants, have been herdsmen from our youth until now, and we and our fathers, that you may be settled in the land of Goshen.' For every shepherd of sheep is an abomination to the Egyptians.

[1232] Do not do this to the Lord your God, for whatever the Lord abhors, whatever He hates, they do to their gods: they burn their sons and their daughters in the fire of their gods.

[1233] Smite the inhabitants of that city with the edge of the sword, and put to its curse all that is in it, and smite its cattle with the edge of the sword;

[1234] Wherefore, as I live, saith the Lord God, because thou hast defiled my sanctuary with all thy abominations and all thy abominations, I will depreciate thee, and my eye shall not have mercy on thee, neither will I have mercy on thee.

[1235] They set their threshold at My threshold, and the doors of their doors beside My faiths, so that one wall was between Me and them, and they defiled My holy name with the abominations they had done, and therefore I destroyed them in My wrath.

[1236] You who lie on couches of ivory, and bask in your beds, eat the best rams of the flock, and the calves of the fat pasture...

[1237] Is this not the one from which my lord drinks, and he divinates with it? You did it badly.

[1238] And Samuel said to the cook, "Give me the portion which I have given you, and of which I have told you, 'Keep it with you.' And the cook took the shoulder, and what was with him, and laid it before Saul. And [Samuel] said, "This is what is left, put it before you, and eat: for this time it has been reserved for you, when I called the people." And Saul dined with Samuel that day.
