Prominent representatives

Prominent representatives are speakers of the New Age Movement, introducing the general public to the thinking of the New Age. Actress Shirley MacLaine is one of the most famous people among them. The main idea of her books and her film is that each of us is already divine within ourselves. We create our own reality, we create our own existence, we are God. It teaches a monistic view of the world: we are all one, one. Another representative of the Movement's vanguard is Bendjamin Krim. He and the Tara Center, an organization he founded in Los Angeles, California, brought New Times to every home in the world by paying $750,000 for ads in seventeen of the world's largest newspapers. His announcement, dated April 25, 1982, read: "Christ is here." Cream claimed to have received several telepathic messages from Christ, who resided in England, in the Pakistani community of London. He said that his task was to inform the world about the return of Christ. Cream repeated his announcement on January 12, 1987, although slightly changing it: "Christ in the world." The New Age was promoted by Marilyn Ferguson in her book "The Aquarius Conspiracy". She highlights both the political and religious views of the modern age on the world, speaking of their goal of forming a world religion and world government. David Spengler has written five best-selling books about the New Age Movement. He tries to lead people away from using the attributes of the New Age, such as crystals, pyramids, etc., and tries to direct them to a higher inner self-awareness. The founder of the Theosophical Society is Helena Petrovna Blavatsky. Theosophy teaches that at the basis of all religions there really is one common religion. Man, according to Theosophy and Madame Blavatsky, has three levels of existence: the physical body, the psychic body, and the astral body. With the help of many reincarnations, a person advances to the astral level. Madame Blavatsky states that she received this information from the Ascended Masters. The works of Alice Bailey, the founder of the Secret School, are second only to Madame Blavatsky in the dissemination of the ideas of the Modern Age. When creating her books, she acted as an automatic recorder through which the people of Tibet sent their information. Her books reveal the new appearance of Christ and the plan for the New Age.

A Biblical Analysis of the Structure of the Modern Age

The Modern Age concept of world peace, world government, and a universal unified religion is the opposite of what we find in the Bible. No one can have real peace with himself until he has made peace with the true and living God of the Bible. The mistake of the theology of the Modern Age is the search for peace within oneself. The only lasting peace will be the peace that comes from above, from God, which, as Luke wrote (2:14), is the peace promised on earth, which is possible only through the true Messiah, Jesus Christ. Jesus said, "Peace I leave with you, My peace I give unto you; not as the world gives, I give unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid" (John 14:27). According to Jesus, the worldly, earthly world will never endure. Only the peace He gives us will truly endure. If a person does not pursue the true Jesus, he will never receive the true peace that Jesus has to offer. And again Christ speaks of peace: "I have spoken unto you in a dream, that in me ye should have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer: I have overcome the world." (John 16:33). Jesus shows us that there will never be peace in the world. True peace can only come from Him. Paul says of peace: "When they say, 'Peace and security,' then destruction will suddenly come upon them, as the pangs of childbirth come upon her with child, and they will not escape" (1 Thessalonians 5:3). We learn from the New Testament that there will be moments of peace in the world, and people will rejoice in that, but because of our sinful nature, there will always be more evil and destruction. There is nothing wrong with wanting peace, but the trouble with the New Age is that they turn to the wrong source. The Bible well shows the impossibility of a single world religion. This religion will be false, since no religion is compatible with Jesus Christ and His mission. The Apostle Paul speaks of this in 2 Corinthians 6:14-1.6:

"Do not be unequally yoked with the unbelievers. For what fellowship has righteousness with iniquity? What does light have to do with darkness? What agreement is there between Christ and Belial? Or what is the participation of the faithful with the unbeliever? What is the compatibility of the temple of God with idols?"

Paul's contrast between light and darkness clearly separates us from the world's religions. Only Christianity possesses the truth of God, and all the world's religions have gone down the road of darkness, following man. Jesus characterizes the uniqueness of Christianity as follows: "Verily, truly, I say to you, whoever does not enter the sheepfold by the door, but climbs over the other, is a thief and a robber... All of them, however many have come before Me, are thieves and robbers; but the sheep did not listen to them" (John 10:1, 8). Jesus defines Himself as the only way to heaven. All those who try to follow a different path, including the Modern Age and world religions, are thieves and robbers. That is why in John 14:6 Jesus said that no one comes to the Father except through Him. Contrary to the desires of the New Age, the only world government mentioned in the Scriptures is what is called anti-Christian in the book of Revelation. This is not the image of universal peace lasting decades, as the Modern Age tries to portray it. On the contrary, the Bible speaks of severe trials, tribulation, persecution, martyrdom, the killing of saints, and the final battle of Armageddon with the whole world against Jesus Christ and His saints.

Beliefs of the Modern Age

The New Age Movement has a variety of techniques for changing one's consciousness, essence, outlook on life, and belief system. Some use methods that only the initiated understand, such as meditation, silent prayer, mediumship, and monotonous singing in unison. Other groups of the New Age use publicly available remedies that are understandable to the uninitiated, such as crystals, minerals, homeopathic remedies, pyramids of various sizes, and other objects that they claim to have a natural garden, whether they are precious stones, magic wands, or religious objects. Most supporters of the New Age believe that any of these techniques is good in itself. Others use them in combination with each other. Since the source of truth for the thinking of the New Age is someone's experience, knowledge, you will rarely hear anyone from the Movement talk about the complete uselessness of this or that method, although everyone has his own favorite. The religions of the Modern Age do not have a prescribed formulation of doctrine. In addition, we see a firm agreement among all the religions of the Modern Age. This agreement is manifested in their antipathy to Christianity. They see Christianity as narrow-minded, dogmatic, and authoritarian. They deny the doctrine of one God in three hypostases. They deny that Jesus Christ is God in the flesh of man. They deny the Holy Spirit as the third hypostasis in the Holy Trinity. They deny the atonement of the blood of Jesus Christ for our salvation. They deny the biblical teaching about heaven and hell. And they deny salvation by grace through faith in Jesus Christ.

A view of the world from the side of the New Time

As for what New Age proponents believe, we will first discuss the three conventional views of the world in the New Age movement: 1. Everything is one. Everything is God. 2. God is faceless and immoral. 3. The world is not real.

Everything is one. Everything is God.
