Interpretation of the Gospel of John

The people answered Him. we have heard from the law that Christ abides forever; how then do you say that the Son of Man must be lifted up?

753

Then Jesus said to them, "Yet a little while the light is with you; walk while there is light, lest darkness overtake you;

754

but he who walks in darkness does not know where he is going.

755

As long as the light is with you, believe in the light...

756

When Jesus had said this, he departed and hid himself from them.

757

He did so many miracles before them, and they did not believe in Him...

758

"Lord! Who believed what we heard?"

759

Therefore they could not believe, that, as Isaiah also said,

760

"This people have blinded their eyes and hardened their hearts"...

761

your feet have not deviated from your way...

762

then God gave them over to a perverse mind...

763

God gave them over to shameful passions.

764

… how many times would I have gathered together thy children... They didn't want to.

765

«… let them not see with their eyes, and understand with their hearts, and turn back, that I may heal them."
