The Gospel of Luke

30 so shall it be in the day that the Son of Man shall appear.

31 In that day, whoever is on the housetop, and his goods in the house, let him not go down to take them; and whoever is in the field, do not turn back.

32 Remember Lot's wife.

33 Whoever saves his life will destroy it; but whoever destroys it will revive it.

34 I say unto you, In that night there shall be two in the same bed, the one shall be taken, and the other shall be left;

35 Two shall grind together, the one shall be taken, and the other shall be left;

36 Two will be on the field: one will take and the other will remain.

37 And they said to him, 'Where, Lord?' And he said to them, Where there is a carcass, there the eagles will be gathered.

1 And he also spake unto them a parable, that they ought to pray always, and not to lose heart,

2 saying, There was a judge in a certain city, who feared not God, nor was he ashamed of men.

3 And there was a widow in the same city, and she came to him, saying, Defend me from my adversary.

4 But he didn't want to for a long time. And then he said to himself, Though I fear not God, nor am I ashamed of men,

5 But because this widow gives me no rest, I will protect her, that she may not come to trouble me any more.

6 And the Lord said, "Do ye hear what the unrighteous judge says?

7 Will not God protect his elect, who cry to him day and night, though he is slow to defend them?

8 I tell you that He will give them protection soon. But when the Son of Man comes, will He find faith on earth?

9 And he also said to some who were sure of themselves that they were righteous, and despised others, the following parable:

10 Two men went into the temple to pray, one a Pharisee and the other a publican.

11 And the Pharisee, standing up, prayed within himself thus: God! I thank Thee that I am not like other men, robbers, offenders, adulterers, or like this publican:

12 I fast twice a week, giving a tenth of all that I acquire.
