The Gospel of John

12 And Jesus spoke again to the multitude, and said unto them, I am the light of the world; whoever follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.

13 Then the Pharisees said to him, 'You bear witness of yourself, your testimony is not true.'

14 Jesus answered and said to them, "If I also bear witness of myself, my testimony is true; for I know whence I came, and whither I am going; but you do not know whence I am and whither I am going.

15 You judge according to the flesh; I don't judge anyone.

16 And if I judge, my judgment is true, for I am not alone, but I am also the Father who sent me.

17 And it is written in your law that the testimony of two men is true.

18 I bear witness of myself, and the Father who sent me bears witness of me.

19 Then they said to him, 'Where is your Father?' Jesus answered, "You know neither Me nor My Father; if you had known me, you would have known my Father also.

2These are the words Jesus spoke at the treasury when He taught in the temple; and no man took him, because his hour had not yet come.

21 And Jesus said to them again, 'I am departing, and ye shall seek me, and ye shall die in your sin.' Where I go, *there* you cannot come.

22 Then the Jews said, 'Will he kill himself?' that he says, 'Where am I going, you cannot come?'

23 And he said unto them, Ye are of the lowest, I am of the highest; you are of this world, I am not of this world.

24 Therefore I told you that you would die in your sins; for if you do not believe that it is I, you will die in your sins.

25 Then they said to him, 'Who are you?' Jesus said to them, "From the beginning I am, just as I say to you."
