The Gospel of John

54 Jesus answered, "If I glorify myself, my glory is nothing." My Father glorifies me, of whom you say that he is your God.

55 And ye have not known him, but I know him; and if I say that I do not know Him, I will be a liar like you. But I know Him and keep His word.

56 Abraham your father was glad to see my day; and he saw and rejoiced.

57 And the Jews said unto him, Thou art not yet fifty years old, and hast thou seen Abraham?

58 Jesus said to them, "Verily, verily, I say to you, before Abraham was, I am."

59 Then they took stones to throw at him; but Jesus hid himself, and went out of the temple, passing through the midst of them, and went on.

- 9

1 And as he passed, he saw a man blind from birth.

2 And his disciples asked him, 'Rabbi! Who sinned, he or his parents, that he was born blind?

3 Jesus answered, "Neither he nor his parents have sinned, but *this* *for* *that* the works of God may be manifested in him.

4 I must do the works of him who sent me, while there is a day; the night comes when no one can do.

5 As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world.

6 And when he had said these things, he spat on the ground, and made clay out of the spittle, and anointed the eyes of the blind man with it,

7 And he said unto him, Go and wash thyself in the pool of Siloam, which is signified, He that hath been sent. He went and washed, and came seeing.

8 Then the neighbors, and those who had seen before that he was blind, said, 'Is this not the one who sat and begged?'

9 And some said, 'This is he,' and others, 'He is like him.' And he said, "It's me."

10 Then they asked him, 'How were your eyes opened?'

11 And he answered and said, 'The man called Jesus has made clay, and anointed my eyes, and said to me, 'Go to the pool of Siloam and wash yourself.' I went, washed my face, and regained my sight.

12 Then they said to him, 'Where is he?' He answered, "I don't know."

13 And they took this former blind man to the Pharisees.

14 And it was the Sabbath when Jesus made the frailty, and opened his eyes.
