The New Testament is for children. The Acts of the Holy Apostles

For the angel of God, to whom I belong and whom I serve, appeared to me this night

And said, "Don't be afraid, Paul! you must stand before Caesar, and behold, God has given you all those who sail with you."

Therefore be of good cheer, men, for I believe God that it shall be as I have been told.

E-26 We've got to be cast up on some island.

On the fourteenth night, as we were carried in the Adriatic Sea, about midnight the sailors began to guess that they were approaching some land,

and having measured the depth, they found twenty fathoms; then, at a short distance, having measured again, they found fifteen fathoms.

Fearing lest they should fall into stony places, they cast four anchors from the stern, and waited for the day.

And when the sailors wanted to flee from the ship, and were launching the boat into the sea, pretending to cast anchor from the bow,

Paul said to the centurion and the soldiers, "If they do not remain on the ship, you cannot be saved."

Then the soldiers cut off the ropes of the boat, and it fell.

Before the day came, Paul urged everyone to take food, saying, "This is the fourteenth day that you have been without food while waiting, eating nothing."

Wherefore I beseech you to take food, that it may be for the preservation of your life; for not one of you will lose a hair from his head.

And when he had said these things, and having taken the bread, he gave thanks to God before all, and having broken it, he began to eat.

Then all were of good cheer, and also partook of food.

And there were two hundred and seventy-six souls of us all in the ship.

And when they had had their fill of food, they began to lighten the ship, throwing the wheat into the sea.

When the day came, they did not recognize the land, but only saw a certain bay with a sloping shore, to which, if possible, they decided to land with a ship.

And having hoisted up the anchors, they went out on the sea, and having untied the rudders, and hoisted the little sail to the windward, they kept to the shore.

They hit the spit, and the ship ran aground. The bow got stuck and remained motionless, and the stern was broken by the force of the waves.

And the soldiers consented to put the prisoners to death, lest any one should swim out and escape.

But the centurion, desiring to save Paul, restrained them from this purpose, and commanded those who knew how to swim to throw themselves first, and come to the ground,
