The Gospel of John

9. When the steward has tasted the water that has become wine – and he did not know where the wine came from, only the attendants who drew the water knew – then the steward calls for the bridegroom

10. And he said to him, "Every man gives good wine first, and when they are drunk, then the worst; and thou hast preserved the good wine until now.

11. Thus Jesus began the miracles at Cana of Galilee and manifested his glory; and His disciples believed in Him.

12. After these things he came to Capernaum, himself, and his mother, and his brethren, and his disciples; and there they stayed a few days.

13. The Passover of the Jews was approaching, and Jesus came to Jerusalem

14. And he found that oxen, sheep, and pigeons were being sold in the temple, and money changers were sitting.

15. And having made a whip out of cords, he drove everyone out of the temple, even the sheep and the oxen; and scattered the money of the moneychangers, and overturned their tables.

16. And he said to those who sold pigeons, "Take this from here, and do not make my Father's house a house of trade."

17. At this his disciples remembered that it was written, "Zeal for your house eats me up."

18. To this the Jews said, "By what sign will you prove to us that you have the authority to do this?"

19. Jesus answered and said to them, "Destroy this temple, and I will raise it up in three days."

20. To this the Jews said, "This temple has been built for forty-six years, and you will build it in three days?"

21. And he spoke of the temple of his body.

22. And when he rose from the dead, his disciples remembered that he had said these things, and they believed the Scriptures and the word that Jesus had spoken.
