Archpriest Gregory Dyachenko

      Sin is:

     an abomination before God: an abomination before the Lord is the way of the wicked, but He loves him who walks in the way of righteousness (Prov. XV, 9). I have sent to you all my servants the prophets, from the early hours of the morning, to say, Do not do this abominable work which I hate. XLIV, 4);

     the fruit of lust: lust, having conceived, gives birth to sin; but the sin committed gives birth to death (James 1:15);

     the work of darkness: woe to those who think to hide themselves in the depths, that they may conceal their plan from the Lord, who do their works in darkness and say, "Who will see us?" And who will recognize us? (Isa. XXIX, 15). The night passed; and the day is at hand, let us therefore cast off the works of darkness and put on the armor of light (Rom. XIII, 12);

     to be in darkness: you were once darkness, but now the light is in the Lord; walk as children of light (Eph. V, 8). - If we say that we have fellowship with Him, but walk in darkness, then we lie and do not walk in the truth (1 John 1:6);
