Acts of the Holy Apostles

13. Ananias answered, "Lord! I have heard from many about this man, how much evil he has done to Thy saints in Jerusalem;

14. and here he has authority from the chief priests to bind all who call on your name.

15. But the Lord said to him, "Go, for he is my chosen vessel to declare my name before the nations and kings and the children of Israel."

16. And I will show him how much he must suffer for My name's sake.

17. Ananias went and entered the house, and laying his hands on him, said, "Brother Saul! The Lord Jesus, who appeared to you in the way you walked, sent me so that you might receive your sight and be filled with the Holy Spirit.

18. And immediately it was as if scales fell from his eyes, and suddenly he regained his sight; And he arose, and was baptized;

19. And having eaten, he was strengthened. And Saul was with the disciples a few days in Damascus.

20. And immediately he began to preach in the synagogues about Jesus, that he was the Son of God.

21. And all who heard were amazed, and said, "Is this not the same one who persecuted in Jerusalem those who call on this name?" and here also he came to bind them and lead them to the chief priests.

22. But Saul became more and more strengthened and confused the Jews living in Damascus, proving that this is the Christ.

23. And when enough time had passed, the Jews agreed to kill him.

24. But Saul learned of their plan. And they kept watch day and night at the gate to kill him.

25. And the disciples took him by night and let him down the wall in a basket.

26. Saul arrived in Jerusalem and tried to join the disciples; but everyone was afraid of him, not believing that he was a student.
