25 He gives food to all flesh, for his mercy endures for ever.

26 Praise the God of heaven, for his mercy endures for ever.

Psalm 136

[David.]

1 By the rivers of Babylon, there we sat weeping, when we remembered Zion;

2 On the willows, in the midst of it, we have hung our harps.

3 There those who captivated us demanded of us words of song, and our oppressors demanded of us rejoicing: "Sing unto us of the song of Zion."

4 How shall we sing the song of the Lord in a strange land?

5 If I forget thee, O Jerusalem, forget me, my right hand;

6 Cleave my tongue to my throat, if I do not remember you, if I do not put Jerusalem at the head of my gladness.

7 Remember, O Lord, to the children of Edom the day of Jerusalem, when they said, 'Destroy it, destroy it to its foundations.'

8 Daughter of Babylon, destroyer! Blessed is he who will repay thee for what thou hast done unto us!

9 Blessed is he that taketh and dasheth thy babes against a stone!

Psalm 137

David.

1 I praise thee with all my heart, I sing unto thee before the gods.

2 I worship before Thy holy temple, and I praise Thy name for Thy mercy and for Thy truth: for Thou hast magnified Thy word above all Thy name.

3 In the day that I cried, you heard me, and gave cheerfulness to my soul.

4 All the kings of the earth shall glorify thee, O Lord, when they hear the words of thy mouth

5 and they shall sing the ways of the Lord, for great is the glory of the Lord.

6 The Lord is exalted: he sees the humble, and the proud he knows from afar.

7 If I walk in the midst of adversity, Thou shalt revive me, Thou shalt stretch out Thy hand against the fury of my enemies, and Thy right hand shall save me.

8 The Lord will do it for me! Thy mercy, O Lord, endureth for ever: forsake not the work of Thy hands.

Psalm 138

To the head of the choir. Psalm of David.

1 Lord! You have tested me and you know.

2 Thou knowest when I sit down and when I rise; Thou knowest my thoughts from afar.

3 Whether I walk or rest, you surround me, and all my ways are known to you.
