12 And when Hannah died, he buried her also with his father. And Tobias, with his wife, and his children, went to Ecbatana to Raguel his father-in-law;

13 And he came to an honorable old age, and gave a decent burial to his father-in-law and mother-in-law, and received for an inheritance their possessions, and Tobit his father.

14 And he died a hundred and twenty-seven years old in Ecbatana of the Medes.

15 But before he died, he heard of the destruction of Nineveh, which Nebuchadnezzar and Hasuir had taken captive, and he rejoiced before his death over Nineveh.

Chapter 1

1 In the twelfth year of the reign of Nebuchadnezzar, who reigned over the Assyrians in the great city of Nineveh, in the days of Arphaxad, who reigned over the Medes in Ecbatana

2 And he built around Ecbatan walls of hewn stones, three cubits in breadth, and six cubits long; And he made the height of the wall seventy cubits, and the breadth fifty cubits;

3 And he set towers over the gate a hundred cubits, which were about sixty cubits wide at the base;

4 And the gate which he built for the departure of his mighty armies, and for the ranks of his infantry, was raised seventy cubits high, and forty cubits wide.

5 In those days king Nebuchadnezzar made war against king Arphaxad in the great plain, which is within the borders of Ragau.

6 And all that dwelt in the hill country gathered unto him, and all that dwelt by the Euphrates, and the Tigris, and Idaspis, and Arioch king of Elymy from the plain, and a great many nations were gathered together in the army of the children of Chelehud.

7 And Nebuchadnezzar king of Assyria sent to all those who dwelt in Persia, and to all those who dwelt in the west, to those who dwelt in Cilicia, and Damascus, and Lebanon, and Antilebanon, and to all who dwelt on the front side of the sea,

8 and between the nations of Carmel and Gilead, and in the upper Galilee, and in the great plain of Esdraelon,
