3 And he sent his servants to call those who were invited to the wedding feast; and they did not want to come.

4 And again he sent other servants, saying, Say to them that are invited, Behold, I have prepared my supper, and my calves, and what is fattened, slaughtered, and all is ready; Come to the wedding feast.

5 But they despised it, and went away, some to their field, and some to their trade;

6 And the rest, having seized his servants, insulted them, and slew them.

7 And when the king heard of these things, he was angry, and sent his armies, and destroyed their murderers, and burned their city.

8 Then he said to his servants, 'The wedding feast is ready, but those who are invited were not worthy;

9 Go therefore to the highways, and call all whom you find to the wedding feast.

10 And those servants went out into the roads, and gathered together all that they could find, both the evil and the good; and the wedding feast was filled with those who sat at table.

11 And the king, having gone in to see those who were at table, saw there a man clothed not in a wedding garment,

12 And he said to him, 'Friend! How did you come here not in a wedding garment? He was silent.

13 Then the king said to the servants, 'Having bound his hands and feet, take him, and cast him into outer darkness; there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth;

14 For many are called, but few are chosen.

15 Then the Pharisees went and took counsel how to catch Him in the words.

16 And they send their disciples to him with the Herodians, saying, 'Teacher! we know that Thou art just, and truly teach the way of God, and do not care to please anyone, for Thou lookest not at any face;

17 Tell us, therefore, What thinkest thou? Is it lawful to give tribute to Caesar, or not?

18 But Jesus, seeing their wickedness, said, 'Why do you tempt me, you hypocrites?

19 Show me the coin with which the tribute is paid. They brought Him a denarius.

20 And he saith unto them, Whose image and inscription is this?

21 And they said to him, 'Caesar's.' Then he said to them, "Render therefore to Caesar the things that are Caesar's, and to God the things that are God's."

22 And when they heard this, they were amazed, and having left him, they departed.

23 And on that day the Sadducees, who say that there is no resurrection, came to him, and asked him,
