23 And the Lord said to Moses, saying,

24 Say to the public, 'Turn away from the habitation of Korah, Dathan, and Abiram.'

25 And Moses arose, and went to Dathan and Abiram, and the elders of Israel followed him.

26 And he said to the congregation, 'Depart from the tents of these wicked men, and touch not anything that belongs to them, lest you perish in all their sins.'

27 And they departed on all sides from the dwelling of Korah, Dathan, and Abiram; and Dathan and Abiram went out, and stood at the door of their tents, with their wives, and their sons, and their little children.

28 And Moses said, 'By this you will know that the Lord has sent me to do all these things, and not according to my own will:

29 If they die as all men die, and such punishment comes upon them as befalls all men, it is not the Lord who has sent me.

30 And if the Lord does an extraordinary thing, and the earth opens its mouth and swallows them up and all that they have, and they go down alive into hell, then know that these people have despised the Lord.

31 And as soon as he had spoken these words, the earth was scattered beneath them;

32 And the earth opened its mouth, and swallowed them up, and their houses, and all the people of Korah, and all their goods.

33 And they went down with all that belonged to them, alive into hell, and the earth covered them, and they perished from among the congregation.

34 And all the Israelites who were round about them fled at their cry, lest, they said, the earth should swallow us up.

35 And fire went forth from the Lord, and devoured those two hundred and fifty men who brought incense.

36 And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying,
