that he should give me the cave of Machpelah, which he has at the end of his field, that for a good price he may give it to me in the midst of you, as a property for burial.

And Ephron sat in the midst of the children of Heth; And Ephron the Hittite answered Abraham in the ears of the children of Heth, all who were entering into the gates of his city, and said,

Nay, my lord, hear me: I give thee the field, and the cave that is in it, I give thee, in the sight of the children of my people I give it to thee, bury thy dead.

Abraham bowed down before the people of the land

And he spake unto Ephron in the ears of the people of the land, saying, If thou wilt hear, I will give thee money for the field; Take it from me, and I will bury my dead woman there.

Ephron answered Abraham and said to him,

My lord! Hear me: the land is worth four hundred shekels of silver; What is it for me and for you? bury thy dead.

Abraham listened to Ephron; And Abraham weighed out to Ephron the amount of silver he had declared aloud to the sons of Heth, four hundred shekels of silver, such as the merchants have.

And the field of Ephron that was at Machpelah stood against Mamre, and the field and the cave that was in it, and all the trees that were in the field, in all the borders thereof,

the dominion of Abraham in the sight of the children of Heth, all who enter into the gates of his city.

After these things Abraham buried Sarah his wife in the cave of the field in Machpelah, opposite Mamre, which is now Hebron, in the land of Canaan.

Thus Abraham received from the children of Heath the field and the cave which is in it for his burial property.
