Text of the Lectionary in the Synodal translation

In those days Peter said to the people, "Men of Israel! Hear these words: Jesus of Nazareth, the Man who was testified to you by God by powers and wonders and signs which God did through Him among you, as you yourselves know, Him who was delivered up according to the certain counsel and foreknowledge of God, you took and nailed with the hands of the wicked, and killed. but God raised Him up, breaking the bonds of death, because it was impossible for her to hold Him. For David says of Him, I have always seen the Lord before me, for He is at my right hand, that I may not be shaken. Therefore my heart rejoiced, and my tongue rejoiced; even my flesh shall rest in hope, for Thou wilt not leave my soul in hell, neither wilt Thou suffer Thy holy one to see corruption. Thou hast made me know the way of life, Thou shalt fill me with joy in Thy presence. Men, brethren! may it be permitted to tell you boldly about the forefather David, that he died and was buried, and his tomb is with us to this day. Being a prophet, and knowing that God had promised him with an oath from the fruit of his loins to raise up Christ in the flesh and to seat Him on His throne, He had first said of the resurrection of Christ, that His soul was not left in hell, and His flesh had not seen corruption. This Jesus God raised up, of which we are all witnesses. Therefore He, having been lifted up by the right hand of God, and having received from the Father the promise of the Holy Spirit, poured out these things which you now see and hear. For David did not ascend into heaven; but he himself saith, The Lord said unto my Lord, Sit at my right hand, till I make thy enemies thy footstool. Know with certainty, therefore, all the house of Israel, that God has made this Jesus, whom you have crucified, Lord and Christ.

Acts 2:22–36

Wednesday of Holy Week

Acts of the Holy Apostles, conceived 6

In those days Peter said to the people, "Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are far off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call. And in many other words he testified and exhorted, saying, "Be saved from this perverse generation." So those who gladly accepted his word were baptized, and on that day about three thousand souls were joined. And they continued constantly in the teaching of the Apostles, in fellowship and in the breaking of bread and in prayers. And there was fear in every soul; and many signs and wonders were wrought through the apostles in Jerusalem.

Acts 2:38–43

Thursday of Holy Week

Acts of the Holy Apostles, conceived 7

At that time, Peter and John went to church together at the ninth hour of prayer. And there was a man, lame from his mother's womb, who was carried and seated every day at the doors of the temple, which are called Red, to beg alms from those who entered the temple. He, seeing Peter and John in front of the entrance to the temple, asked them for alms. Peter and John, looking at him, said, "Look at us." And he stared at them, hoping to get something out of them. But Peter said, I have no silver or gold; but what I have, I give unto thee: in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, arise and walk. And taking him by the right hand, he lifted him up; and suddenly his feet and knees were strengthened, and jumping up, he stood and began to walk, and entered with them into the temple, walking and jumping, and praising God.
