Text of the Lectionary in the Synodal translation

The Epistle to the Hebrews, conceived 335

Brethren, obey your leaders and be obedient, for they are vigilant over your souls, as those who are obliged to give an account; that they may do it with joy, and not with sighing, for it is not profitable for you. Pray for us; for we are sure that we have a good conscience, because we desire to behave honestly in all things. I especially ask you to do this, so that I may be returned to you as soon as possible. But may the God of peace, who raised up from the dead the great Shepherd of the sheep by the blood of the everlasting covenant, our Lord Jesus Christ, make you capable in all good things to do His will, working in you that which is pleasing to Him through Jesus Christ. To Him be the glory forever and ever! Amen.
