How to Read the Bible

And we turned from thence and went to Bashan, and Og king of Bashan went out against us to make war with all his people at Edreiah.

And the Lord said unto me, Fear him not, for I will give him into thy hand, and all his people, and all his land, and thou shalt do unto him as thou didst unto Sihon king of the Amorites, who dwelt in Heshbon.

And the LORD our God delivered into our hands also Og king of Bashan, and all his people; and we smote him, so that there was no one left alive to him;

And at that time we took all the cities thereof; there was not a city that we did not take from them: sixty cities, the whole region of Args, the kingdom of Og of Bashan;

And all these cities were fortified with high walls, gates, and bars, except the cities which were not fortified, which were very many;

And we put them under a curse, as we did with Sihon king of Heshbon, having put to death every city with men, women, and children;

but they took all the cattle and the things taken in the cities for their prey.

And at that time we took out of the hand of the two kings of the Amorites, this land which is on this side of the Jordan, from the brook of the Arnon to Mount Hermon,

The Sidonians call Hermon Sirion, and the Amorites call him Senir,

all the cities of the plain, all Gilead, and all Bashan, as far as Salha and Edreiah, the cities of the kingdom of Og Bashan;

for only Og king of Bashan remained of the Rephaim. Behold, his bed, a bed of iron, and now in Rabbah, among the children of Ammon, the length thereof is nine cubits, and the breadth thereof is four cubits, the cubits of a man.

And we took this land at that time, beginning at Aroer, which is by the brook of the Arnon; and I gave half of Mount Gilead and its cities to the tribe of Reuben and Gad.

And the remnant of Gilead, and all Bashan, the kingdom of Og, I gave to half the tribe of Manasseh, all the region of the Args, with all Bashan.
