How to Read the Bible

21 И оставили там Филистимляне истуканов своих, а Давид с людьми своими взял их.

22 И пришли опять Филистимляне и расположились в долине Рефаим.

23 И вопросил Давид Господа, И Он отвечал ему: не выходи навстречу им, а зайди им с тылу и иди к ним со стороны тутовой рощи;

1 To the head of the choir. David, the servant of the Lord, who spoke the words of this song to the Lord, when the Lord had delivered him out of the hand of all his enemies, and out of the hand of Saul. And he said:

2 I will love thee, O Lord, my strength!

3 The Lord is my stronghold and my refuge, my Deliverer, my God, is my rock; in Him I trust; My shield, the horn of my salvation, and my refuge.

4 I will call on the worthy Lord, and I will be saved from my enemies.

5 The torments of death have seized me, and the streams of iniquity have terrified me;

6 The chains of hell have encircled me, and the snares of death have bound me.

7 In my distress I called upon the Lord, and cried unto my God. And he heard my voice from his palace, and my cry came to his ears.

8 And the earth was shaken, and the foundations of the mountains were shaken, and the foundations of the mountains were shaken, for God was angry;

9 Smoke arose out of His wrath, and out of His mouth a consuming fire; hot coals poured down from Him.

10 And he bent down the heavens, and came down, and darkness was under his feet.

11 And he sat down on the cherubim, and flew, and was carried on the wings of the wind.

12 And he made darkness his covering, the darkness of the waters around him, clouds of the air.

13 From the splendor before him fled his clouds, hail, and coals of fire.

14 And the Lord roared in the heavens, and the Most High gave his voice, hail and coals of fire.

15 And he hath sent forth his arrows, and scattered them, and a multitude of lightnings, and scattered them.

16 And the fountains of waters appeared, and the foundations of the world were made manifest by thy terrible voice, O Lord, by the breath of the spirit of thy wrath.

17 He stretched out his hand from on high, and took me, and drew me out of many waters;

18 He delivered me from my mighty enemy, and from them that hated me, who were stronger than I.

19 They rose up against me in the day of my affliction, but the Lord was my support.

20 He brought me out into a wide place, and delivered me, for he is well pleased with me.
